THE TEA PARTY, THE GREEDY RICH AND AYN RAND—PARASITES, LICE AND MOOCHERS

JON LARSEN

Libertarians, Free-marketers, anti-tax advocates and Tea Partiers alike have found the base support for their psychopathic, amoral beliefs and all-consuming greed in the works and words of Ayn Rand. She became the Queen of Greed. Alan Greenspan, past head of the Federal Reserve is one of her early followers.  Fellow psychopath Paul Ryan reportedly entered politics because of the influence of Rand and plans to eliminate taxes altogether for the richest and greediest. For the wealthiest, he plans to seize, reduce and destroy Social Security, the most loved retirement fund.

Social Security is a great plan. Since its beginnings it has been adjusted to meet the needs of a growing U.S. population which is also getting older. Not a problem. Social Security is solvent and self-supporting and would be solvent well beyond 2037 were it not for one big problem.

The greedy psychopathic rich want the fund for their own, to seize its $2.6 trillion ($2,600,000,000,000), privately administer the fund and suck it dry with the trillions becoming administrative costs/profits to fill their already bloated accounts and leaving those workers who paid for the fund holding the “empty bag”.

Rand was born in Russia in 1905, was opposed to the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 and with the seizure of her father’s pharmacy and the hard times became the woman who, like Scarlet O’Hara of GWTW, “would never be hungry again.”   In the United States she consistently wrote and spoke against Democracy. She praised serial killers such as William Edward Hickman who kidnapped, raped, murdered, dismembered and disemboweled his child victims. She, in her morally twisted and perverted view, saw government as evil, compassion as weakness and selfishness as the only virtue. The small middle class and the laboring class were “lice” and “parasites” who didn’t deserve to live. Any receiving assistance were, in her view, “immoral.”

Her influence has spread. The corporate media glorifies the likes of Donald Trump, the back-stabbing greed of the “Survivors” and the “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous”. Obama praises Jamie Diamon of J.P.Morgan-Chase and Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs who received $17 million and $9 million bonuses at our expense….as “savvy businessmen.”

Tea Partiers who support this Religion of Greed say that they oppose the interference of “Big Government” and Social Security, at the same time as they support corporate control of our lives. But, look again. What they really want is all of the benefits of Social Security and Medicaid which only they deserve. All others who apply for benefits are seen as undeserving, old and handicapped moochers and looters.

“We, The People” are not important in their scheme of things. Only the greed of the rulers of the United States-i.e., Goldman Sachs, BP, General Electric, and others and the greed of the Tea Partiers themselves have any merit today. The shrinking middle and the unemployed laboring classes are seen as lice to be polluted, poisoned,” nuked”, starved, burned and frozen.

Ayn Rand, in 1974 at the age of 69, needed surgery for lung cancer and became the mooching, undeserving, parasitic leech that she despised. She received Medicaid and then Social Security for the last eight years of her life.

Ayn Rand was one of the best examples of why we need entitlement programs like Social Security.  Despite her insane greed, she was unable to provide for her own support in her old age.  Fortunately, she had paid into the Social Security program for many years and was entitled to benefits of the program.  That is, she had a right to claim what she had paid for.

Some might call her odious.

One thing is sure. She was a hurt, hateful child at twelve, and a vindictive and disturbed adult whose psychopathic ideation and behavior is clear. That her followers, be they Alan Greenspan, Paul Ryan or John Boehner, want to steal those rights to benefits which we have all paid for and which kept the Queen of Greed alive for eight years cannot be denied. They will not rest.  They will continue their plans to steal the $2.6 trillion in the fund.

We must defend our Social Security. Not just now. But, forever.

We must defend democracy and re-claim our rights from the insatiable greed which now rules our lives.
