A new Fox News poll finds that support for offshore drilling continues to drop dramatically. While the percentage of Americans in favor of increased drilling has dropped from 70% to 46% in just two months, the percentage opposed has more than doubled, from 22% to 48%.
This is in line with the findings of dozens of other polls in recent weeks.
Here is how Fox News presents the data:
This chart illustrates the massive shift in public opinion much more clearly:

Fox’s poll was inline with other polls? On a subject the GOP holds dear was I wonder id the issue is attracting to much attention to lie about?
I wonder if there is a pattern to polls Fox and the GOP lie about?
If they would take that foreign oil, energy independence crapola out of the question, I think we know what would happen to the support %. If only someone in an influential position in our government would tell America about the only rational path to energy independence. Too bad we have no one like that.
Good news that it dropped though. Thanks!

Well I can’t speak for anybody else but I’ve always been opposed. I’ve had this silly notion that there might be a dreadful accident and the company involved would neither care nor be forced to care by regulators. Silly, I know, since drilling is so very safe and clean.
Other polls would show it much further down, I imagine.
Sadly, 44% of the population still approve.
With their horrible leading wording, the numbers (for them) are probably even worse; I was surprised they even released this. Then I clicked the link and saw their lede:
I thought FoxNews polls are generally in line with others? Its not like Rasmussen, although they do use ambiguous wording, I’m sure.
Just imagine if we had an actual leader. They could have been in front of this from the beginning.
