RIP
Thank you, Jason, for reading & commenting.
I did a lot of grieving last night at FDL, and elsewhere, over her passing.
She was a hammer for social causes, as were the trio.
They walked in ‘63 and ‘64. They were THERE for civil, women’s rights, and anti war (Vietnam).
She was big, bold and beautiful in voice, personna and heart and soul.
They don’t make ‘em like that so much, anymore.
Thanks for your post.
I know, Larue. I keep filling up every time I think of her beautiful voice and spirit being gone.
Thanks, Karen. What a loss.
Thanks, Jim!
Also, you’re right about that date, but unfortunately, I’ve lost my window of opportunity to correct. Most likely, it is from the 70s.
I’ve seen them so much more recently on PBS, that I think I was suffering some kind of temporal dissonance. ;~)
Thanks Karen. I really needed that.
A beautiful song.
