I received a link to this video from one of my co-workers today. She is also getting chemo, but for another form of cancer. I bring vegetable soup to work for her whenever I make it.
I thought we could all appreciate something cheerful and health-care related, since, apparently, it’s going to be a long haul, yet! |

Karen — positive energy sure is contagious! Thanks for sharing this. :)
thanks for sharing this, hope it brings a smile to everyone who’s gone through or going through or helping someone go through cancer treatment.

Thanks for a smile on a day when we could use it.
You are all most welcome! (And, Elliott, I did reconsider.)
We really need something like this for health care reform.
Are there amongst the Fire Pups a choreographer, a lyricist, and a song writer? Or perhaps those with very few degrees of separation from the same?
so glad you did :)
We need competition
Writing’s on the wall
We need the public option
Help us heed the call
Sixty years of maybes
We have a bill at last
Seven months of roadblocks
But we can get this passed.
When you believe in things
That you don’t understand
Then you suffer
Public Option is the way
Reconciliation
Filibuster proof
Rids us of the problem
Do all you can do
Keep me here for Christmas
Keep me all night long
If you want to save me
Keep me going strong
When you believe in things
That you don’t understand
Then you suffer
Public Option is the way
We need competition
Nothin’ more to say
Give us the public option
Or there’ll be hell to pay
Ben, Joe, Blanche and Mary
Read the public polls
The voters will remember
How you cast your votes
When you believe in things
That you don’t understand
Then you suffer
Public Option is the way
That’s really great, MrWhy!
Now we just need a tune, choreography, some dancers and a videographer.
DFHs will recognize this as a rewrite of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition.
Thanks for that MrWhy!
I am so literal-minded sometimes that I see only the words! So, we have a tune, too!
Happy smiles from me to all of you!
Thank you Karen for posting this. I am a former nurse and can say from first hand experience that the majority of those in the trenches, so to speak, of care are dedicated, committed and compassionate people. Unfortunately, the system we have often ties our hands. Thanks for the smile. Just a thought… maybe a contest for lyrics and music submitted would get you what “we really need for health care reform”.
You’re welcome, walkinboots!
I completely agree with you about the system. It is rarely structured for patients or their caregivers, but nearly always for administrative purposes or financial ends.
And thanks for commenting, Kathryn!
