   Bush,for the first time, heard the truth about his policies and it happened with the whole world listening and watching. Might be why he looks so sickly.

  Ah, I think I get it…it’s the way the different frames of the picture were not-always-well put together. Over to the right a bit from Jimmy Carter is a disembodied hat in midair, and behind that Rick Warren morphs into Aretha Franklin in a very frightening way.

   What a bunch of bitter bastards the GOP show themselves to be. Smirk on the face of Lynn Cheney, barely concealed scowl on Limbaugh’s mug, Scalia looking like he’s constipated, the twins just vapid as usual. The seating arrangement there with the Clintons right next to the senior Bush convince me again that there is more to that relationship (btw Bubba and Poppy) than we will ever know.

   With everyone else all bundled up, Laura Bush proves she is unfeeling by sitting in almost subzero wind chill weather with barely an outer garment on (maybe she’s full of antifreeze Wild Turkey style).

   thanks for the linky! This is a great fun picture. I shared it with my daughter who is going to share with friends who attended (way way back where the picture doesn’t focus).

   Yes, I noticed Clarence Thomas asleep. reassuring, eh?

   I saw an interesting tidbit that the swearing in was the first time that a chief justice gave the oath to someone who hadn’t voted to confirm his nomination!
