Hi, y’all.
Reading today’s Over Easy, it looked like many of you had enjoyable New Years celebrations. Some friends of mine who are neighbors have turned their yards into a shared space and threw a large and entertaining party. Exactly as we finished our count down to midnight it started raining. I guess that was our equivalent of the ball drop!
I hope you got 2013 off to a great start, too. Tell me about it — or whatever is on your mind.

“I guess that was our equivalent of the ball drop!”
Here in northern Michigan, our equivalent of the ball drop is the Cherry T Ball Drop in Traverse City.
I was working all night, so only get to watch it on youtube!
Austin has some alright ‘first night’ celebrations with music & sometimes art installations. Unfortunately, it was greatly reduced by our current mayor when he came to office (though of course the police department can still get millions for new toys).
