It’s been an Irish-punk wake in honor of John Chandley this week — the Pogues and Fiddler’s Green, and now Flogging Molly with a live performance of “If I Ever Leave This World Alive,” performed in Switzerland in 2006. I’ll miss him and this is the best way I know to honor him here.
It was sunny today and I had friends around while I worked and plan to spend time with more tonight, which is about all anyone can ask for in this life.
Tomorrow is Cartoon Friday and I’ll have a weird, old, thought-provoking short film for you then.
This is our latest MyFDL open thread. What’s on your mind?

Time for a glass of sipping whiskey as my father used to say … and thoughts of those we’ve lost.
Irish punk wake – John would have enjoyed it I bet!
I miss John. There is a hole in my heart.
Exactly. I hope he’d have appreciated it and I think you are right. Gonna hot my favorite watering hole on the way home in his honor.
It is a great loss I hope he knew how much I appreciated his work here.
