Hi, y’all.
A big Texas storm is rolling in while I write this. The kind of apocalyptic sounding wind that makes me feel especially alive. I’ve got the windows open. It was a hot January day and promises to be a wild night. Then again, being Texas, it may all blow over by the time this post goes live.
Here’s Etta James singing “Stormy Weather.”
How are you tonight? What’s on your mind? This is the latest MyFDL open thread.

Yup, blew over with barely a drizzle.
It’s 9:25PM, 70 F, tornado watch. Global warming. Like a boss.
I said this in another watercooler but it bears repeating: I was worried it might be too warm for lettuce to sprout in January. Fortunately we’re back to having some 60 degree days.
I just planted some more lettuce, Kit. L.A. here. It’s doing just fine. I love my fresh lettuce.
And, thanks for the Etta sounds. She was so dreamy, wasn’t she?
What a voice!
We’re having pretty normal spring weather here, but it feels a little early. I’ve lived in Texas for a while, and sometimes it warms up in January but it feels a bit more consistent than usual this year. I’m curious whether we’ll get our traditional Feb cold snap, where often for a week it seems to drop below freezing and wet and windy.
