It’s Wednesday. The weather has cooled off but the much-needed rain has fled. The peas are starting to sprout in my garden. Last night, I got invited to a decadent vegan meal a friend cooked for about a dozen people. I was struck by how the food and the good company came together — enjoying a meal is at least 50% the company you share.
Here’s Klaus Nomi from 1982, performing “Nomi Song” on French television. Because I don’t believe you need an excuse for plastic suits and gothy ballerinas wearing Slinky’s.
What’s on your mind tonight? This is our latest MyFDL open thread.

Yo, Kit! Art? Politics? Commentary on life?
Mr HotFlash and I went to opening night
at the COC prod’n of Tristan and Isolde. The music was exquisite, the singing divine, the story hopelessly bone-headed — but then, it is opera. Tristan is *SO* annoying, seems to have spent all his lif looking for someone to die with, and all the main characters are like Me Me ME!. IMHO, the most noble characters are the servants, and even they are pretty stupid, just not as selfish. Fortunately, everybody could sing their socks off, and the ‘set’ was a 2 1/2 hour long video purpose-made for the opera. Must be the longest music video EVAH! More here.
Wow what a fascinating looking production. I love the idea of a feature-length video ‘set’ to accompany an opera. I would love to experience that!
