The Cobweb Hotel is a weird old cartoon from 1936 by Fleischer Studios. Fleischer Studios was once the leading competitor to Disney, and originated well-known characters like Betty Boop and Popeye. Though this creepy singing spider never went on to lasting fame, I think it’s pretty memorable! Like much of the media of the era, it borrows liberally from the antics of stage musicals and vaudeville. Will the innocent newlywed flies escape alive to feast happily ever after on rotting food and carcasses? Alright, that last bit is my embellishment.
What are your favorite cartoons on the Internet? I might use one in a future installment if it can be embedded.

Fleischer Studios was way ahead of Disney and even Warner animation but Max and Dave got into some kind of disagreement and that pretty much put an end to it.
Thanks. I admit I don’t know much of the history of this bunch beyond Wikipedia. It seems like an interesting tale.
