Tiny deities?

It’s Cartoon Friday, again!

I thought about picking an Independence Day-related animation, but couldn’t think of a classic July 4th cartoon that was both available for streaming online and that I wanted to watch unironically. I would love for you to suggest some good exceptions in the comments.

Tonight’s selection is The Orange, a short film by Nick Fox-Gieg based on a story by Benjamin Rosenbaum and animated by Nick Fox-Gieg. It won Best Animated Short at Austin’s SXSW film festival in 2010.

Rosenbaum is a writer who lives in Arlington, Virginia. Fox-Gieg is an animator based in New York and Toronto who has received several grants from his work.
