My children, like most children, attend public school. With the school system lacking funding like it is, teachers have been getting creative with ways to raise money for their classrooms. My youngest daughter’s teacher has gone above and beyond, in my opinion. She proposed a project to DonorsChoose.org and got it posted on their site.
I help out in this classroom once a week and more as my schedule allows, so I know how hard this teacher works. She really is one of the best teachers I have ever met!
Mrs. Pina would like to create a Science Investigation Center in her classroom. The total cost for the endeavor was almost $400 and they only need about another $135 to make it work! If you feel so compelled, please visit this page and read more about the project and find out ways to donate.
I think it would be really awesome if they could achieve their monetary goal by the time the kids return to school on Tuesday! I know the kids would really enjoy having some hands on science in the classroom!

Bravo, worthy project! My daughter is a teacher, so I know how hard they work!

Ditto @msmolly. A worthy cause. My mother is a retired English teacher. Teachers are doing God’s work, for real.
Only $110 to go!!
Thanks to all who recommended this, and anyone who has donated. This is my younger daughter’s classroom. A wonderful teacher trying to do right by her students in an environment where our small town (17k pop.) is facing a school district budget shortfall of $1.5 million next year. After $4.5 million in cuts this year.
I chipped in $25. Not everyone can afford to contribute, but I can, so I wanted to show my support.
Thank you :)
Thank you so much for all of your help, either by recommending it or donating! You are amazing!
