I got an assignment this week in one of my government classes to take a political compass test. It’s supposed to tell me where I fall in the the Liberal –> Conservative spectrum. I wasn’t too surprised with my results.
My results:
The most interesting, though, is this one:
What do you think of these results? Did you take the test? How did you do?

“Sex outside marriage is usually immoral.” giggle-snort.
Oh. Hi, Kristen!
Here’s me:

Although I wanted to skip quite a few questions, because there was no neutral button or else, the question oversimplified or left out a central concept.
Thanks for sharing, this was fun, oh how I love school! Can I audit, can I, can I?? (jumping up and down, turning eyelids inside out)
How did the fundraiser go?
Thanks again from somebody in the green box with you!
Uh oh. Looks like I’m to the left of Gandhi.

That was fun.
I am actually really enjoying these classes. Though it is interesting to interact with people who don’t know what is actually going on in the world. I actually had to inform my class(and teacher) about the Navy Seals that were killed in a helicopter crash after Osama Bin Laden was killed(I debated putting quotations around that last word, but decided it would be a little too conspiracy theory).
The fundraiser went well! They reached their goal on Wednesday! =D
I actually had to take another survey for class that asked:
“Please rate your feelings for these groups of people on a scale of 1-100. 1 meaning you don’t favor them at all, or dislike them. 100 meaning you feel very favorable toward this group.”
Then it gave the groups to rate:
The Elderly, African Americans, Hispanics, People Who Are Disabled…etc…
Yay me.
My favorite of the above images, BTW, is the one that shows OilBomber right next to Mittens.
Dang. And I thought it was just me, but you’re even more left than I am, LOL! Amazing there’s even a box for us.
Interesting new test. Well, I find all things Sociology interesting, like, for example, how your teacher could not have known about the SEALs. I mean, c’mon son..oh well, hey, that’s what Ms. Kristen is there for, right?
We’re in good company with Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.
My degree will be in Psychology, but I absolutely love all the “soft” sciences! Sociology is wonderful! Why people do what they do has always fascinated me. =)
I took the test a bit ago. I fall significantly into the green area. Further than you. About where Crane-Station lies.
I am left of Ghandhi, apparently. Explains a few things, such as why I get so impatient with those in the “left” side of things, but not as far as a beyond Ghandhi. LOL.
Economic Left/Right: -8.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -9.33
The chart of 2012 presidential candidates seems about right. Obama appears exactly where a cynical unprincipled triangulator would be; as ideologically close to his opponents as possible while still retaining some semi-plausible differentiation.
Here is my political compass.
Oh yes, definitely the square with the best company, for real!
I expected to be ranked more libertarian than left. I guess my self-perception is skewed.
I wonder where Jesus falls on this list. Then his followers.
I like being to the left of Gandhi.
I wonder where all the presidents would rank (the sex questions would of course be different)
I wonder if Tea Party people saw where Reagan was and they are if that would make them confused or sad.
The new republican party is not the republican party of my Father.
I wonder where Grover Norquist is?
