By now, most FDL’ers and Seminal’ers have read of the travails of Mary Mc and her husband.
Mary being a long term and regular commenter and contributor to FDL.

I live near them, in Sacto.
I met her husband in ’03 at a dobro workshop, and visited them a few times at their house, met Mary, and played music and was pupiled by her husband in music.
The visits had to stop as he began to worsen health wise, and I lost track of him and his wife over the years.
Only to rediscover Mary at FDL and learn of all their hardships since I first met them.
These are lovely, wonderful and caring and capable and able human beings, hit hard by life’s roll of the dice.
I’m not sure Mary will approve of this, but she’ll tell me, I’m sure.
What am I getting at?
They are two house payments behind, leading up to foreclosure and being homeless.
FDL has raised LOTS of money for causes, political and social. So I’m asking The Pups and all, can we just SEND them $20 or so, and help them catch up on the house payments?
I’m out of work, my wife’s carrying me, and has been for a while, but I can find $20.
Could a lot of the Pups do so, also?
I know there are many MUCH worse off than I, so I’m only asking those others who might have it for a good thing.
I don’t want to be in charge of a fundraiser, bother FDL with a donate button, and all that. But couldn’t we just SEND them some money? And help two of our own out?
And while I’m at it, can anyone offer two HUGELY talented graphic designer folks some phreakin WORK? Or refer YOUR friends, family, and co-workers who might NEED this kind of work done, and have it go to Mary and her husband?
Mary, I’m really sorry if I’m out of line on this, but I just felt I had to make this ask. Just had to.
I’m tired of seeing our finest being pressured so hard and losing ground. It’s time to lend a hand one way or another. This is my hand.
Pups? Can you help?

That’s part of my post, asking her how to get this done, to help her.

I spoke with Mary, they are gonna be ok one way or the other, and don’t really want to get into this type of support.
And, it’s fundraising, and requires Mz. Hamsher’s approval.
