A whiles back, I posted This.

That first one, Go N Say Goodbye from Buffalo Springfield, is to this day a welcomed camp jam tune at any fest, be it rock or bluegrassins.

Ubetchaiam, bless his heart and vital organs, replied with another of my fav Springfield tunes, Clancy (see the linky).

He beat me to it . . . as I was gonna post that one, with two dif versions.

He got good taste, for sure.

Does this work?

*G*

Neil Young, Stevie Stills, Richie Furray, Jim Messina, Dewey Martin.

The original SuperGroup . . . before Cream, or any one.

4 of whom went on to huge stardom . . . CSNY, Poco . . . Loggins N Messina . . . 4 of whom were prolific song writers, pickers, n sangers.

Heck, they are so good I’m gonna repost Ube’s “Clancy”, n then up his raise with another one.

N then, I’m gonna post some seriously hot shit pickin by one guy most ever one should know either from grassin or Grisman, and one of his biggest fans who’s becoming a major hoss of his own right in the past few years amongst us pickin fans.

Tony RIce WIki.

Josh Williams Info.

First Clancy-From The Album.

Stills, Furray, Young, L To R Up Front Bless Them All.

That endures, that song . . . n so do them three . . . *sniff*

N now, some pickin n sangin.

Josh WIlliams N Tony Rice, Church Street Blues.

Tony, Before He Lost His Voice, Church Street Blues.

The Original, From Norman Blake, Another Hoss.

Ahh What The Heck, Grisman, Rice, N O’Connor Doing DawgJazz.

I had never heard of Tony Rice, until I bought an album called David Grisman Quintet in the mid/late 70′s, and saw them perform 4 times in SF.

Wow.

Rice lit me up, I had NO idea he was a past and future grass pickin phool until the late 90′s. I knew Grisman from Old and In The Way. But that’s pickin for a future diary.

But Tony could and can flat out pick the snot out of the git.

If ya don’t know about Tony Rice, please check out his wiki link I posted above.

In the history of guitars, Charlie Christian was the first electric and black man in white man jazz with Benny Goodman’s band back in the 30′s.

Classical wise, none can top Andre Segovia.

In pickin terms, there was Django Reinhardt, Doc Watson, Norman Blake, then Tony Rice . . . n Tony Tone is the standard ALL are measured by today.

Oh what the heck, here’s 3 Of The Best, Evah!

Doc, Norman, Tony.

If that don’t raise yer blood pressure yer stone cold dead.

Bless them all, one and all. What marvelous things they have brought to our ears.

Let’s Pick!

(PS: Mods, how do I embed youtubes? Can’t make them work! Thanks)
