Let’s Garden-7/6/12

You may recall Larue’s Garden from May This Year.
Then There Was This Stellar Hit From June. Oh My, It Grew!
Well, a month later we got ourselves a veritable jungle, been eating the first of the green and yellow zukes, pulled some yellow ‘maters (DELICIOUS!) with many others growing, pulled about 50 Roma’s the size of my thumb (in pots and might not get any bigger but are GOOD), been hitting fennel fronds, rosemary, tons of chili serrano’s (gotta give them away, tree is producing about 50 a week), about 100 yellow pear ‘maters . . . . nicking fresh oragano daily, basil is now coming along (150 new seedlings with 75 or more in the ground stealth growing you’ll see the pics and 70 or more for transplant into large trays and various pots) quickly and well, it’s a delight to water, keeps the temps down out front, and we even now have new pole beans finally forming (they’ve taken forever to flower and fruit).
Life is good, so let’s get to the pics for July, 6th, 2012!

On the right, between sidewalk/potted plants and lawn, new stealth plot for basil that’s coming up.
Here’s where we began to encroach outside our fence line, stealth like.
The gardeners cut back the ivy in the plot outside our fence, so, of course we had to fill it in! We live next door to the complex model that they show off to prospective tenants, and now, OUR plot is better than THEIR plot! *G*

Inside the front area around the ac unit, it’s a jungle, so dense, alive, the smells, and it cools things down a lot.
So that’s about it, for now.
Hope you are gardening and eating fresh, it can be done ANYWHERE there’s some sun . . . you don’t have to have a farm! Can’t wait for the basil to get tall enough to begin harvesting for pesto! Gotta have some to get us thru the winter!
