On reading my evaluation of the “band-aid” period between 2010 and 2013, specified in Nancy Pelosi’s compromise bill, Bonnie commented:
”I think the House ought to include a special subsidy for the 31,000 families of uninsured people who will die annually from lack of insurance during the band-aid period, so that they can afford to bury their loved ones.”
When I asked why, Bonnie replied by saying that:
“since Nancy and the Democrats are allowing that 31,000 fatality doughnut hole to continue to exist, they ought to take responsibility for this, and at least pay for the funerals.”
Just so!

Tell Bonnie good thinking and such an amendment would indeed be worth beating the progressive drum for. closing the 31,000 dying Americans donut hole! Any idea on organizing this or using it as a talking point for phone calls to Congress.
Thanks lets. Boy, those diaries travel fast down the list. I appreciate your resilience in keeping the discussion going.

great thinking! it’s the right thing to do and a great way to personalize and bring home the unnecessary deaths our fucked up policies cause.
unless the family objects, every death should be another opportunity to talk about single payer.
Thanks lib, Bonnie and I really appreciate it. I haven’t thought about how to organize this, but I guess the story might have potential for bringing the continuing deaths home to people. The Dems have just obscured that totally, and now Grayson is doing the bait-and-switch too.
The diaries do travel fast down the list, and I’ve often felt that there’s not enough time for comments. The evaluation of the band-aid period mandated in Pelosi’s bill I really think is important and while there were a lot of comments on it, I don’t think a lot of the Firepups saw it. Most seem attracted to the quickly appearing and disappearing daily stuff, and are dis-inclined to read something like that even when it’s on a very important current topic.
Yes, selise, glad you liked it. I hoped we could spread the idea around because it really does bring home the fact that this bill won’t solve the worst problems, even though it’s got some “goodies” in it.
Right so, …… and President Obama should be present at every funeral and “pay his respects” to these fallen disease-warriors of the US fighting for health, prosperity, hapiness and human rights in their own country, instead of abroad.
Thanks, Henk, That’s a great addition to the ad. Why isn’t Obama paying his respects to these dead by pushing for HR 676, Medicare for All, single-payer. “Everybody In, Nobody Out!”
Go Bonnie!
Bonnie says: LOL, and thanks Ralph.
Maybe a coffin count widget?
On another note, why don’t the Dems just strip out the goody bag, pass it, and start from square one on the rest?
Thanks. I think that’s good as long as an end to abuses like rescissions and precondition denials are included. The risk pool idea, stripped of the 25% cost increase is OK for treating the preconditions issue.
