I never had a DailyKos account. Consequently, I never learned the tricks of the trade when it comes to making a blog post "popular". I always wondered how people would find and weed through all those competing posts and vote something onto the front page.
In the weeks to come, I look forward to learning this process.
I also look forward to seeing blogpost length entries from those of you who have been such valubale contributors in the comment threads. I am excited at the prospect of hearing YOUR ideas of what ought to be covered on a given day.
I am even more excited about the prospect of turning our thousands of readers loose to go forth and do citizen journalism. Think of all the amazing first person reportage we can accomplish with the addition of all of you to the beat.

Truly, you gotta love it. It’s like a big Rovian backfire. They own and muzzle the media, and what happens, turdblossom? Out of that shit came a wonderful thing – the slogan “be the media” and the reality of political blogs and in your face you-tubes and the wonderful uprising of citizen journalism that is so much more real, truthful and fast forward than the stodgy backpedaling, spinmeistering and outright lying that we’ve been forced to endure for years through traditional media.
Hoist with their own petard. LOVE IT.
Everyone gets a chance to write be heard and judged by their peers what can the MSM do to compare to that? Sooner or later the Right though will have Diaries too…and then they won’t.
Why because the most passionate about ideas on their side are the racist, antiimmigrant, abortion clinic bombers.
Without passion there is no good writing witness George Will, Bobo, David Broder.
Without ideas there is nothing to write about. The last exception that proved this rule was Churchill I think And he drank daily enough to kill me at my worse.
Nobody Drinks that much that late into life without some unresolved issues or back pain.
Glad you’ve finally taken the plunge, lhp — although your experiences with FDL’s community mean you are already graduated to a different level, no mere novice.
Look forward to hearing more from you!
I agree with all 4 of you — especially having a place for eye-witness news as it happens. We’re all reporters now. ;o)
