I am a member of Occupy Little Rock. Over the weekend we had the pleasure of playing host to Sam and Bob, the exchange folks from FDL and Occupy Buffalo. These two had many good ideas and pointers for us. Sam is a very intelligent person who has a great background in law and activism. She had many great things to teach us about the eviction process and steps to take in case it happens. Her energy seemed boundless. It didn’t matter if it was about discussion or helping us with our community clean up, she was front and center, always encouraging and engaging.
Bob has wonderful skills with a camera and computers. He is great at pulling stories and interviews from folks and works, almost without end to ensure the important things are captured for later use. He too has good ideas and is a real pleasure to be around.
FDL has done a great thing getting this program together and finding such apt agents for it. This program is worth the time, effort and dedication. Any time you can get two people willing to drive 18 hours straight, twice, to keep the program working, you have found a winning combination.

Thanks for the report MacMiller!
Thanks for the update! I was happy to learn more about Occupy Little Rock recently, including your being off the grid. Strong work!
Wow, OLR’s off the grid? Tell us more!
OLR has a 2.5kw solar array that provides us with electricity. We had, up until and 80mph wind damaged it, a 300 watt wind generator. It is being fixed and a 500 watt wind generator is now being built. We us no city utilities. We get water using a water trailer the local union has donated. We recycle our water using a grey water filtration system and are composting our kitchen waste.
Kewl!
