Good morning kittehs o’ fire and happy Sunday! It’s been mostly routine this week around here with a couple of exceptions. One of those was the fact that Kuroneko was all stopped up and couldn’t poop early in the week but I eventually discovered the cause. It turns out that the water in her dish was contaminated, probably by something invisible growing in it. I make sure to wash her bowl out a couple of times a week but something or another had established itself in there and it was not to her liking at all. I bought a new bowl and stopped feeding her dry food for a couple of days and she cleared up nicely. Then the weather changed yesterday and that always seems to send her into new realms of rambunctiousness. After she spent a couple of hours charging around and making general mayhem, I found the source of at least some of the noise.
There’s Taz on my pillow but he usually lives on the wall. And where are his ears?
Oh, there they are. Still on the wall after ‘Neko leaped up and finally managed to pull Taz down.
Kuroneko picture of the week. She just loves to burrow into fresh laundry but hates it when you pull it back to say, take a picture of her!
Obligatory cute kitten picture via Lolcats.
So what are your kitteh stories? Please share them or some new pics with us or just drop by for kitteh talk. No big whoop.

Neko Vs. Taz, the next John Waters flick.
Hey, Peg.
You inspired me to figure out what’s up with Flicker, and
Voila….
Picky in his very own room outside.
Are you going to tape or sew Taz’s ears back on? Sad, too said.
DeafTaz may become a new favorite saying of mine.
Hey there demi! Thanks for the Picky pic. And yep, eventually I’ll sew Taz’s ears back on.
Neko is such a beautiful girl. I louvre me a glossy black kitteh with a mischievous temperament.
Hello ysd! I am so incredibly lucky to be able to share my life with her.
I probably should get a flickr account up and post these but here’s a FB link to my Dan’l getting his morning drink of water (direct from the faucet of course)
Hi dakine01! Yep, I don’t do facebook at all but I’m sure he’s a handsome guy.
D-
I just made an account a couple of weeks ago, and I only added the pickyshot to that account this morning.
Had put it off for so long, and you know, we need the proper tools for the job. :) Try it, you’ll like it.
Abner whoring for attention at a recent par-tay.

Abner disapproves of *something*. Again.

I think I automatically had the flickr account by virtue of having a yahoo email or something. I just never had a real camera until last year.
there is a great CASE TO BE MADE,that with the Hantavirus outbreak, people should rush down to their local shelters and get 1 or 2 indoor cats…end of problem…of course we would need animal activist to make a big point of it here..i have tried in the past to no avail
LMAO! Abner looks so disdainful. Puny humans!
Here are a few on flickr I just uploaded
Anyone thinking about Halloween yet? I’ve got my first decorations up–a set of 3 lighted shadow trees on the porch. I found the cutest Halloween tree ornaments…reproduction shiny brites in black purple and green stripes! Soooooo my thing. This year my costume will be a giant burlap bag o’ money with a dollar symbol on the outside. I think I’ll wear some dollar bills in my hair. Teehee.
I dunno if it would end the problem, though there is no doubt that cat ownership reduces the incidence of Hantavirus and Hemorrhagic Fevers. The problem with rodents is that they constantly and continually defecate, leaving little raisins wherever they go. Just a mousie passing through will leave some little parcels behind.
Awww! He IS a handsome boy! It must have broken your heart to be apart for so long.
Yikes! I’d be careful about wearing actual money in public.
OMG. I found evidence of rodent *in my kitchen cabinet*. Interestingly, it is the cabinet housing pots and pans that I locked with a baby proofing device because the doors won’t stay closed. Take the lock away and problem solved…
Play money. Like I have the real thing! Hahaha.
Dan’l4 needs a capshun. Look at his byootiful eyes…
His eyeliner is purr-fect.
Yeah, I worried about him which is why doing the blitz trip was a no brainer
Wise choice. I was picturing costumed party goers ripping out chunks of your hair in a money grabbing frenzy!
I’ll have to get that done down the road aways.
mice are terrified of cats, they will scurry away,or not habitate homes with multiple felines imo
Hanta virus in Houston

just moved to my lovely farm, had a lot of rodent droppings sprayed everything before i moved, the flood brought tons of mice unfortunately
There have been cases and deaths in Yosemite, I believe, too. Draught, plague… December 23, 2012 is just a few months away. Heh.
That is totally hilarious, Margaret, the ears pinned to the wall. Talk about a kill. Yikes, poor, poor Taz!
When I lived in the country, we had a lot of cats at the house, and we would sometimes wake up to bunny ears or something similar on the floor in the pantry.
cross posting from Put up yer cat:
Put ‘em up, pull ‘em up, however you like it! Smorgasbord ‘o kittehs, in jars or in the laundry. Mixing metaphors, mixing ourselves up with too many kits, cats, sacks and wives. Oh dear!
I have been out at my favorite event of the year and will post some photos shortly. After a while.
Also, I forgot to mention that some of my cats, particularly Little, likes the fresh laundry. I believe there is some kind of pherome (? spellcheck does not like that) in the detergent that gets them excited.
I think you mean “pheromone”.
thats ground zero,sadly
Yes, that is what I mean.
So my son just *demanded* that a little tick on Abner’s ear must be removed immediately. No excuse or explanation was accepted as to why I could not do it. The kid made me face my fears. The tick is history.
Lordy, a plethora of cats to pull up, or put up, today! Still catching up on all the pickcher postings.
funny. Can’t have too many kittehs on Sunday, can we?
And I have one right here…Pushy, tucked up against my side, as I recline, Roman-style, on the bed. All my typos today shall be blamed onPushy, ’cause I am reaching over him to type.
OMG! Did you all read that? The woman who tested positive recently cleaned out her hoarder mother’s place…..Uh, a reminder to us all to clear away the clutter, huh? (I’m a clutterer, and I do worry that at some point the brain will screw up and turn me into one of those scary folks.)
Wonder what bgrothus’s favorite event is? Hmmm, waiting with bated breath…
I’m a natural clutterer too but I can still be brutal with myself about getting rid of stuff I don’t use but I’m inclined to keep.
Heh. I get rid of stuff in bursts. Just yesterday pulled a blouse out of a give-away bag I’d filled before getting sick.
It’s a conflict between the ultra-frugal way I was raised…get rid of nothing, because you may need it later (Depression baby parents)–y’know, saving string, rubber bands, wrapping paper, etc. for uses to be discovered later.
Apparently Neko wants you to downsize by one Tasmanian Devil…? That pic of the ears on the wall is pretty funny, knowing the back story.
I’m just a slob. I remember fondly living by myself in a neat, tidy apartment with no dishes in the sink, a freshly vacuumed carpet and clean, folded laundry tucked away in the dresser. No more. I’d rather live in a sloth wallow than resent cleaning up after everyone else. It’s a trade off.
Depression era parents here too. We have to strive to find a balance between our ultra frugal parents and the current throw away generations.
I wish I would have been fast enough to catch her on camera when she would leap up there and hang on and give Taz hell with her teeth and hind legs. It was a sight!
One advantage to living by myself is that every mess is mine or Neko’s.
and to ysd: Oh, I share both feelings. I was once fairly tidy, too; marriage to a genuine slob required me to loosen up or find myself screaming/muttering /complaining all the time, AND being furious while cleaning up after him. Life is easier this way…
Also, of course, if I can’t find something and the cats can’t have moved it, then there’s only myself to blame for misplacing it…
Oooh, a second kitteh has arrived on the bed. Squeaky’s here, looking about like…hey, it’s not nighttime, why is yoo on de bed? But purring prettily.
dakine01, forgot to say how cute Dan’l is, and how glad for you I am that you are back together. Dunno how you stood the separation as long as you did.
What a handsome boy he is.
Oh, fooey, just put a link and a quote from an article about flame retardants and cat illnesses at the other Cat post, bg’s….everybody here ought to check out that article.
I’ll take a look at it over there, thanks. :)
Ya, man.
You point out all the Easy Stuff, doncha? (snark, you know.)
You really nailed that one Peg.
It’s a Journey, I say. A Journey.
Sadly I don’t have a cat to pull up (I like cats and I’ve been meaning to get one though), but I did see this cool video about sand-kittens, which I thought I’d share. . . .
http://screen.yahoo.com/super-cute-sand-kittens-30507912.html
yea, working on my clutter problem, havent gone to flea market in 10 mos
Sand kittens! Thank you!
oh,they ARE super-cute, aren’t they?
warp9, don’t worry, anyone is welcome who ever had a cat, wanted a cat, or likes cats at a distance. We even tell stories about dogs and wildlife here, too.
I’ve been wasting time scrolling through my facebook page looking for a cat pic someone shared yesterday…can’t find it! Is that a sign that my facebook page is out of control? It isn’t that I have so many “friends,” but that many are active posters, and often thoughtful ones, so the posts require reading and commenting, following links, etc., etc. Never did find the pic, but got multiply distracted by other links.
And I may throw in the towel here, so I can go to bed actually early. Never did nap, but I have rested, under which category I include (both) Pull Up a Cats today.
Thanks Peggy and bgrothus for stepping up to the plate.
Time for me to hang it up for another week. Thanks to everybody who stopped by and please set aside some time during the week to spend with the animals in your lives.
Oya!
Still Life with Kitteh!
G’night, Margaret!
Sorry I missed Margaret. Can you see this album from We ART the People? I am so bad at this, and my computer is really getting tired any more. It is a struggle.
very important for all species involved
In case anybody comes by again…this is the lolcat I was searching for: it’s just sofamiliar, couldn’t resist.
Have a good week everybody!
It worked! Great pix.Love that rooster mask, and the ladies sewing circle symbol…I notice they;ve been around awhile. You look great in the apron.
Yes, VINTAGE! Time to bring them back, and I am ready!
I am excited, I may be getting the hang of the photo thing. Next week I will try it again.
by George, I think you’ve got it! ; )
