Ron and I find ourselves in a constant pickle when it comes to making/finding/borrowing money to stay afloat. In the past week I have found and signed on to several programs. Most of them have been funded with actual money and staff since the dems have been back in power. (Just think what could be done if the people had received a tenth of what the banksters did.) Here are the links:
Weatherization Assistance Program
We are eligible to have our house weatherized. The average amount spent on homes is $6500.00.
Jobs/Job training
I found my local center and got funding to go back to school to upgrade my skills.
Help with utility bills.
I have an appointment today to get help with utilities. They will help with as much as $362 every other year.
Sacramento help with utility bills and weatherization
If anyone has more information lets put a list together and update it. Any other ideas are really appreciated.

Good post, Mary. Recommended.
I don’t know if communjity healthcare centers exist in other than CA but here’s an article that may help someone.
ooh Mary, glad to see you getting some good news.
ACORN’s site always have helpful links for struggling families.
Thanks, folks.
hi sweetie. i’m sooo glad you two are finding some help at least.
What are the requirements to qualify for help?
You have to meet the income requirements. They are different for each program. Usually at the site there will be a pdf that will tell you what is needed. You don’t have to be a home owner to get the weatherization either. You can be a renter.
Thank you for posting this, Mary. Godspeed.
great idea, thanks mary.
