On Monday, Obama sauntered up to the microphone and spoke sweetly to the American people. He blithely suggested that the Social Security checks for August may not be going out. OK, he said other things, too. I really didn’t listen. I find it hard to listen to this person. He usually says very little anyway. He has NO moral compass. He is a NeoLiberal. And I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but he is boring to boot. The phrase “banality of evil” comes to mind.
I will stop right here. I haven’t written a diary in a while. I used to spend a lot of time researching, thinking, and trying to put my best and most logical foot forward. Ain’t happening anymore. I am tired and can no longer make myself write either brilliant diaries or highly cogent comments. Please, forgive me.
One thing I know about Obama is that if he has mentioned something in passing he is making sure it will happen. He has set up the framework. If those social security checks don’t go out, how many won’t eat. How many businesses will go under? How many will die from lack of medication? How many more homes will be caused to go into default? And Obama will use this situation to cast himself in the roll of victim.
Obama is not just a disappointment, he is a danger. He is the most blatantly dishonest person I have ever witnessed in public life. We are in more trouble than we were in the Bush years because we are dealing with a heartless shape shifter who has taken us and the world economy to the very brink of disaster.

Mr. Obama certainly must know that Social Security is solvent, with liquid securities to pay for many decades to come. Yet Mr. Obama has put Social Security at the very top of his hit list!”

Back in the election cycle of 2002, I wss part of a military veterans effort, in which we raised over $250,000 for five military vets running for seats in the House and Senate. Sadly, all lost in their efforts for elective office. In 2004, more military vets ran for elective office in Congress, and several achieved their successes. And I mention this in order to add an exclamation point to this story, given that the next election cycle, requires that another candidate be located and encouraged to run in the primary in which Obama faces a ‘competitor’, even if only to satisfy the disaffected and dissatisfied, and further, a Democracy requires both the “groaners” and the “complainers” being politically engaged.
And with this in mind, being a “groaner” and a “complainer” is not a easy or comfortable position to be in, but that’s where the fun can be found and that’s been my lifetime endeavor. Therefore, my being of the Native American/Chicano Construct, I find “fun” in almost all instances.
Thus, my opposition to Bush’s Wars, Bush’s Tax Cuts, Torture, Rendition, and Gitmo, reinforces my staunch belief in LBJ’s Great Society. Consequently, the majority of white America continues to enjoy its “feeding frenzy” relative to the parameters that is the effervesence of Criminal Stupidity. Subsequently, it’s the Progressive “challenge” to not only engage, but to find candidates for elective office that are capable and enthusiastic in either winning or losing a poltiical battle in order to perpetuate and expand the Legacy of the Great Society.
Conversely, Obama stole “Si se Puede” but he cannot steal the Great Society. And that’s Obama’s ultimate political weakness when viewed from any progressive standpoint.
Therefore, recharge your batteries if you must… but don’t stay away too long…’cause time is not our kissing cousin.

Will the MOTU actually drop more of us over that cliff just to let us know who is in charge and how little power we have? Obama will do what he wants to with next months Social Security payments regardless of where the money really comes from.

I don’t believe in any sort of God that influences our lives here so I won’t say I’m going to pray for you, but I will hope for you. Obama may have tried to steal everyone’s hope with that blatently false campaign he ran on, but he ain’t gettin’ all of it.
As long as humans are alive, there will be resistance to being oppressed. And in that resistance lies hope, no matter how dim or in danger it may be, and I will cling to it until my last breath.

Social Security Fund = serfs still paying into it. My kids have to have it deducted from their paychecks.
I wish we could offer our children some relief from their anxieties about the future.
MM, I know this is no consolation, but you may enjoy the irony: I finally became fully eligible to receive SS. I signed up for my measly amount. Supposed to get my first check in August. Or not!
And I still work, so I’m still paying into the system.

The kind of blatant lying and crass unfairness cannot stand. We don’t know where the tipping point is. We can see that we are advancing towards the tipping point with leaps and bounds and these leeches who call themselves leaders cannot seem to stop themselves.

I find is so disturbing that shortly after the election so many people saw his true colors and we, the People, are powerless to do anything about it. The most we can do is wait four years and hope for something better. It is the equivalent of handing your bank account to someone, trusting them to handle your money, finding out they are a thief, and letting them continue to do the job.
To me, the person who becomes President is just the best Salesman!
When referring to Obama in a conversation I always say “Your President”, because I neither, trust or respect the man and sadly I now lack the respect that we all should have for the highest Office in our Country. I still can’t bring myself to say President. I say Obama or “your President” but now thanks to you I have the name I have been searching for all this time. Heartless Shape Shifter!
