*sigh* Another Sunday and more of the same. I guess I’ll watch whenever the Sunday shows go back to having reasonable discussions of relevant topics using empirical facts.
In other words, I guess never.

One person has died and two more have been infected out of 300 million people in this country and all the talking heads want to do is jabber incessantly about it. That’s just 0.00000001%. What about the hundreds of people who die every day in automobile accidents? And why don’t we have a police brutality “czar”? [...]

Holy shit! That guy is a freaking madman! I’ve always wanted to visit the Isle of Skye but I don’t think I want to ride that ridge on a bike. Thanks, Ellie.

These people piss me off! I’m so sick of the zero sum, defense of the indefensible games we have to put up with every time Netanyahu wants more Palestinian land, not to mention lives). They can’t defend the slaughter so they attack those with the courage and intellectual honesty to criticize the brutality. And I [...]

And one more thing: “Human shields”? Really? Let me ask you a question and I hope, (but doubt) you have the courage to answer it: If a bunch of men armed with automatic weapons set up a rocket launcher or a machine gun nest in your front yard, would you go out there and order [...]

Deploring what Israel does to the Palestinian people is not “supporting Hamas” any more than criticism of Netanyahu’s racist, apartheid government and the IDF’s brutal tactics are “anti Semitic”. People who equate those things are just advertising that instead of cogent arguments, all they have are personal attacks. Hamas wouldn’t even BE in power if [...]

The acts I both practice most and appreciate most is just simple consideration of other people. Like holding the door for someone with an armful, putting the divider on the checkout conveyor so the next person can put their groceries on it, letting somebody out of a parking lot in heavy traffic, wiping the table [...]

There were also some great collaborations with Larry Niven, namely “Lucifer’s Hammer” and “Footfall”, both of which are gripping reads.

Politics and personal attacks have invaded PUAC in my absence, I see. I’m not surprised though, I saw it coming and I left before I could see folks tear down this blog. Wish I hadn’t dropped in now.

Never thought I’d get a shout out and it’s odd considering I haven’t visited in a long time. The fact is that I got tired, very tired of the trolling. I became disgusted with it being necessary to post disclaimers before and after every comment. I got tired of the fight. It seemed to become pointless to me. I’ve often thought of returning because I enjoyed the cat posts but even in those I was being trolled.

Thanks for thinking about me though! I still love and respect many if not most of you but I can’t pretend to be happy about what happened to me here. I wish FDL and Jane all the success in the world though.

Though now that I look around, I see many diarists here are also obsessed with how an airplane managed to disappear while over an ocean. Good grief.

So sick of the death porn about that missing airplane on “Up” and who is the vacuous woman filling in for Kornaki?

It seems that even PUAC has been taken over by people with a political ax to grind. There goes my last refuge at FDL. It’s been a slice.
