TheCallUp commented on the diary post Sorry, but this blog has been marked as spam by Kurt Sperry.
A recommendation for FDL regarding sock puppet policy: If I were you I would embarrass the crap out of them rather than ban them. Like when the alleged offender here created two sock puppets and swarmed Margaret it would have been great for the Mod to put a statement in each of his sock puppet [...]

TheCallUp commented on the diary post Maybe Obama is actually up to something by David Seaton.
Remembering 2008, it took him a lot of debates before he learned to be a bit more confrontational. That was one of the biggest observations about Obama early on: Edwards was swinging for the knockout, Hillary was tough as nails, and a timid Obama was trying to be polite and not confront anyone on anything. [...]

TheCallUp commented on the diary post Progressives are in need of a supportive webblog in which to communicate and organize by Barefoot Accountant.
I think FDL is very critical of Obama’s policies. If you read Dave, Jon, and Kevin’s pieces, they consistently call out failed policies on all issues that are supported/implemented by the Obama Administration, and they don’t pull punches in stating that Obama is behind them. This includes banking regulations, Obama’s timid economic stimulus policies, his [...]

TheCallUp commented on the diary post Me, Finkelstein & Occupy: Next Time a Revolution, Not a Peasants’ Revolt by fairleft.
In my opinion, I think the occupy movement has been tremendously successful. Did it break up the ‘too big to fail’ banks, get us single payer, end the 2-party duopoly, help to ensure much needede relief for those decimated in the recession? No. But what it did do is give an entire generation the blueprints [...]

TheCallUp commented on the diary post Ahmadinejad Flattens CNN’s Zakaria by fairleft.
fairleft, Excellent post! Therein lies the heart of the problem, as Ahmadinejad described it. The media has long conflated Judaism as the religion w/ Zionism as a political ideology (an extremist one, in my opinion), and understanding this distinction is crucial to understanding the underlying problem. When Ahmadinejad said “He will wipe this Zionist regime [...]

Since you brought up that point, and after digging around, reading other’s opinions on what happened, I just decided to remove the statement.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

TheCallUp commented on the diary post Stagecraft: Our Presidential Contest Has Devolved Into Little More Than A Fake Wrestling Match by TheCallUp.
That is a frivolous complaint, as it is frankly hard to prove who was really behind its release. Jimmy Carter’s Grandson is alleged to have found it “from someone on Twitter,” and he describes himself as a Partisan Democrat who “did not get paid by the Obama campaign or a political organization for his role in [...]

One of the gripes of the Mass Resistance was that Romney struck Husband/Wife from the Marriage Certificate and put Party A, Party B.

Yeah, it is ironic. Now each candidate depends on the other party to portray him in ways that make him credible to his own base. Democrats demagoguery of Romney makes Tea Party think “he’s not so bad after all.” And same for Obama. :)
