I was pretty sure, based on the content, and, though some effort was made to disguise it, the writing style, that our old friend had returned. That link was the clincher.

It’s like he wanted to be outed :)

    With respect to your title:

Deficit obsession is a creation of the ultra right message machine

Since Obama is one of the current poster boys of deficit obsessing, I think you just called him an ultra right-winger.

Welcome to the fifth stage of grief.

    X2.

In my experience, the Democrats have been preaching the “change from within” sermon since the Clinton years.

You deadpanned this one out of the ballpark, with a non-lethal dose of irony on top, of course :)

Now, get on the ground and put your hands on top of your head while I go out and buy me one of those infernal gadgets :O

Ditto on all the comments. The consummate liar/betrayer did nothing more than mumble a platitude. Has he put the weight of the executive branch behind any policy changes? Has he signed anything? Changed any rules? Will he say it on the campaign trail? It is baffling how so many people seem so eager to be [...]

And there are some of us who still remember the present and how Wall Street pays for Obama’s ads through its massive campaign contributions. Keep in mind that Nader had absolutely no control over the Republican PAC that paid for those ads. The PAC paid for them not because they agreed with Nader, but as [...]

IMO, ignoring the effect of the economy on the working and middle classes will turn out to be Obama’s biggest strategic blunder. If the economy was doing OK for the working and middle classes, the Obama campaign’s calculated risk would likely be a sure thing. Pissed progressives who are willing to say no to Obama [...]

I agree 100% Obama has taken the country right-ward at a faster pace than any president before. As Glen Ford of Black Agenda Report said, Obama is the more effective evil. I’ve been an independent voter all my life, mostly voting third party but sometimes supporting Democratic candidates. No more Democrats for me, period. As [...]

The SCOTUS argument is bogus. If you look at Obama’s pattern of behavior, there is no logical reason to think he will move left if reelected. On the contrary, there is every reason to think that he will continue to move toward the right. Despite election year pandering, there is no evidence that Romney is [...]

    Another great diary, Wendy.

IMO, propaganda like this is the worst because it seems so reasonable on the surface that most people are likely to accept it at face value.

The corporatist and government point of view gets shaped and reinforced in a most civilized and accessible format, you might say.

The time for the Democratic Party to reform itself was before they decided to support Obama for re-election. His actions prove he is the best friend the Republicans ever had. By standing by him, the Democrats have proved they are past salvaging. Any resources you put into the Dem party will be used to support [...]
