First and foremost, those protests were over two years ago. Why are they such and issue to him now? If he had any indignation over Autumn’s uniform it should have been expressed then.
But that really is besides the point. Who is he to make an issue out of it? He’s not transgendered and while that would not necessarily disqualify a commentary, it certainly disqualifies him from making commentaries about what uniforms transgendered individuals who are past or present members of our military should be wearing. On what basis does he make the condemnation? Does he have a source inside the military? None cited that I could see. Only thing he cites was a code that yes, was broken, by wearing the uniform at a political protest. But so did the other people on that fence so why mention Autumn specifically?
What disturbs me the most though is that he essentially equates a transition of gender (especially one where reassignment surgery is conducted) to changing a name. It does not matter what genitalia was between Autumn’s legs or what name she was known under at the time, Autumn Sandeen DID serve in the US Navy. Period.
