Since you have been nominated for Most Absurd Diary Ever, may I place myself in nomination for Most Absurd Comment Ever and trump your plan: Don’t even bother to read FDL or any other blog anymore! In case no one has noticed yet, there isn’t an honest game/casino in town, why continue this verbal masturbation? [...]

Good idea but I don’t have one, cancelled when they supported Bush’s prescription drug plan. No offense but you have to be quicker on the draw, don’t keep dating folks who left you standing in the road once already. For example, any progressive who still supports Dems, but I digress…yup, burn it!

Breaking my vow of “blogging-silence” (drat) to say:

    1. I think you’ve nailed it!

and 2. Read: One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Ken Kesey…the “plot” is spelled-out in that novel.

    Thanks for the diary…

I will assume this post will draw the usual 0 comments and so I do not have to plan on sticking around to respond. I know most everyone here will keep on keeping on and I hope you will succeed. But at this point in 2011, with not a single credible candidate to oppose the [...]

Good diary and no offense but can’t we simplify this a bit, i.e. we live in a sophisticated (not openly brutal) one-party totalitarian militarized imperial state. That one-party has two factions that both serve at the pleasure of and for the needs of the moneyed oligarchy and the will of the people (your polls) is [...]

It’s like The Truman Show where they pull back the curtain on America and show without qualification that we are living in a failed and criminally corrupt state of delusion and massive 24 hour’s a day propaganda. A lawless state with a benign dictator who shoots hoops and fills out brackets and really should have [...]

May I add for the hundreth time of late and categorically without desiring debate, as a progressive Democrat who supported his election with my vote and my wallet, I would not support his reelection no matter the outcome and despite the pretty speeches he will now make on the budget, for example. There is far [...]

It’s just that with our national tendency to fascist repression, we might go through an ugly and long period of adjustment to a reduced standard of living. Todd believes that America’s geographical alienation from the center’s of the world combined with our incapacity to produce will put us in a truly precarious economy.

Read Emmanuel Todd, “After The Empire,”he earlier foresaw the fall of the Soviet Empire and has written of our pending collapse. The parallels are more than a little eerie, our involvement in Afghanistan, that infamous land war in Asia. The failed political system, the desperate oligarchy seeking to preserve their world hegemony by reducing the costs [...]

Edger…if it wasn’t you I wouldn’t rouse myself to even send the following digits into cyberspace, but it’s been a while. As Camus prescribed, it is necessary to be in rebellion against the sinister evil that overwhelms our society. But waiting for the revolution will likely not be in our lifetimes, the mask of tyranny [...]

Well it’s just one more glaring instance of Obama & Co. being dependable accomplices with Bushco in covering-up and protecting their crimes. It’s the reason why Bush did not need to pardon any of his henchman when he left office and the reason why torture investigations were dismissed as “looking backwards.” I can’t get the [...]

  • What would you expect from Obama: the only electable Republican candidate? Please wake me when Dennis Kucinich, Howard Dean, or Bernie Sanders decide to run for President against Obama on just this issue!

  • I read the story of the letter in the UK’s Guardian-online and looked at NYTimes website, did I miss it? Beating a dead-horse here but was this letter reported yet in our national stenography-pool, er, sorry our national media? A free press is protecting us about as much as having a constitutional law scholar and Nobel Peace prize winner for President is!

  • I agree and apologize for “messing” with skfrogs, it was just a knee-jerk reaction to what was probably not meant to be a “DKOSian-like” response to my point. This was a very serious and well wrought diary on another issue of great import. At the end of the day, who is President will still matter [...]

  • I agree with what you say for the most part but my caveat would be that “conservatives” (if taken to mean the current GOP congressional lineup) are actually trying to “starve the beast.” Cutting $ 6 trillion from the budget, shutting down the government, destroying social security, medicare and leaving nothing but funding for imperial [...]

  • Admitted that Rand and Ron Paul have positions on some issues that I could never support, as a “Progressive” I find that I am often in agreement with them on many issues (war powers, Federal Reserve corruption, etc.) As for Obama, I can’t find any remaining position of his that I can support. So since [...]

Like Democritus. we’re still looking for that one honest man. Not likely to be found in the governments of the U.S. or the U.K. But then again, I would assume the Germans would not have prosecuted themselves after WWII if they had been victorius. So beyond Obama and Holder’s complicity, anyone hear a recent peep [...]
