SO, WHAT RESPONSE DOES DAVID DAYAN SUGGEST? Does Dayan believe voters should reelect the one man responsible for doing NOTHING to fix the problem for the last 3+ years? Is there a purpose to complaining without recommending a resolution to the complaint?

  • nothing funny about it, NO ONE knew as well as Warren that Obama IS the problem. Her response was just the obligatory political requirement.

  • I sure wish FDL would find its backbone! The problem is NOT Jamie, it’s not Congress, it’s ALL Obama. Robert Scheer, this morning’s Huff. Post clearly puts responsibility where it belongs, why can’t FDL? Elisabeth Warren must’ve been wondering what’s happened at FDL when she responded: “The American people are pushing for more accountability. They need to keep on pushing until it happens.” FDL used to be in the front, now?

Gary Johnson is far more liberal than Obama on social issues and there’s NOTHING Obama’s done on the fiscal side that argues for us to vote for him. THE question I ask (again) is, why does FDL spend so much time covering a “horse race” still 5 1/2 months away, rather than covering the issues determining whether Obama deserves a second term. That’s what EW & Glenn do, they focus on what the President we elected is actually doing. For example, is there a Democrat who’s NOT offended by Obama’s planned executive order on Yemeni, as described by Glenn today? It makes little sense to me for FDL to fundraise in support of Bradley Manning and other issues CAUSED by OBAMA, it refuses to argue Obama should be sent home BECAUSE of what he’s done and not done as President.
On the other hand, if FDL is not as demanding of the President we whom entrusted with a once in thirty year opportunity to right HUGE wrongs that are changing the what our country stands for, and it believes Obama should be reelected in spite of what he’s done, why not argue the case? At least that would be taking a stand.

All anyone needs to know about Dimon is why Reed forced him out of Citigroup.

My point is simple. What’s happened @ FDL? For 2+ years it was a leading Progressive site reporting, analizing & commenting thoroughly and FAIRLY on incredibly important matters that affect us all. It’s clear it did an amazing job because Obama’s team repeatedly berated “Progressives” & Jane by any other name. For two years I’ve [...]

Hey FDL, THIS ELECTION IS NOT ABOUT ROMNEY, IT’S A REFERENDUM ON OBAMA. So what about it, FDL, does Obama deserve a second term?

How is it possible to be anti-Dimon and not anti-Obama? It’s Obama who’s provided Dimon his mandate. What the heck is going on at FDL?

  • Dayan’s coverage of this falls depressingly short of anything I’d believe was coming from a Democrat, let alone a Progressive. Read Peter Goodman & Simon Johnson today at Huff.Post, and MANY others across the internet to get interesting arguments from leftys who refuse to softserve Obama’s catastrophic failures.

The ONLY thing this post tells us is how irrelevant FDL has become. Read Dean Baker, read Glenn, read Marci, and remember how great FDL WAS.

I can’t “look at this facebook page”, I’m not a member. It’s that easy folks.

  • That’s it? Not a word about Obama’s catering to the whims of the BlueDogs for 2 years, when he SHOULD have been using his Bully Pulpit to try to honor his campaign promises? The demise of the BlueDogs is potentially a HUGE story for ideological Democrats. I say potentially because of how quickly Slick Willie Clinton jumped on board (obviously to minimize the likelihood this story would be reported for what it is – a Democratic voter revolt.
My latest pledge is to contribute & campaign to elect a Democratic House and Democratic Senate, AND most importantly – to DEFEAT OBAMA. It’s Obama who’s solely responsible for squandering a once in thirty year opportunity to affect real positive change for the great majority of Americans. Maybe giving our elected Dems (sans MANY BlueDogs) another chance will remind them who they work for!

What the heck is Jon Walker doing? We ALL know for sure that Jon’s painfully aware Obama controlled a veto-proof Senate AND House for the first two years. So, would anyone care to ponder why Jon writes this nonsense? “… it is inherently shortsighted to make the promise something like, creating bipartisanship or changing Washington, that can only be accomplished by having your political opponents actively help you deliver it.” How far is FDL willing to go to convince Obama’s team its coverage is “fair and balanced”?

And this is what FDL now finds publish worthy? I guess anything that demonstrates to Obama’s lackeys that FDL can be trusted is just good business. Oh well, I guess it’s working for Rachel.

Agree with all you say, but I just can’t accept, after all that Obama’s minions did to Jane & team after it’s GREAT 1st 2 1/2 years coverage of this MOST hack Administration, that it would now play the role of those it it so rightly lambasted for playing the sycophant (fawning parasite). We ENTRUSTED Obama with a once in thirty year opportunity to right TERRIBLE WRONGS that threaten our country more than all our “enemies”. Never have I seen a President with such disdain for the middle class & the ideals of the Party who gave him the opportunity, NEVER!
