bamage commented on the blog post Rep. Cohen Berates Eric Holder Over Obama Administration’s War on Marijuana
Nice job in the 2 minutes he decided to devote to the issue (perhaps he does more, I’m unfamiliar w/ the guy, and “two minutes in heaven is better than 1 minute in heaven”) but – is anybody but me startled that Rep. Cohen is from TN? Not exactly known for progressive politics down there…
Anyway, Holder is an @hole and one of the things I despise most about POTUS is he was, by all accounts, a major ganja consumer back in the day – and look at him now. Fucking hypocritical Drug Warrior. Fuck him.

bamage commented on the blog post The Roundup for February 1, 2013
Fatster I commented the other day about the tunes, but I literally LOL’ed when I saw this. Can’t listen now, wife’s on me but I quite truly never knew anybody other than a few friends who’d ever heard of Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks…
Where’s the Money!?

bamage commented on the blog post White House Issues Truly Pathetic Non-Response to Petition About State Marijuana Legalization Laws
I created my own petition in response. If a couple readers would sign on, and forward it so I can get a few sigs, it’d be pretty awesome.
Here’s the url
http://wh.gov/PU5Tand the Headline…
we petition the obama administration to:furnish a substantive, responsive, (as opposed to a regurgitation of previous talking points) ANSWER to any petition.

bamage commented on the blog post White House Issues Truly Pathetic Non-Response to Petition About State Marijuana Legalization Laws
For the uninitiated, after you sign a petition, they send you a copy of the “response” and THEN, (get this!) they send you to a short survey where you can let them know your reaction to the “response”.
I let them know. In fact, I wish I had kept a copy of my comments, so I could share them.
On second thought, perhaps it’s best I did not. I’d hate to sully a respectable forum such as this with some of the language I used.

bamage commented on the diary post Death of a Bush-Era Prosecutor Prompts Deep Thoughts On the Hereafter by RogerShuler.
I remember the look on my wife’s face when she first heard me deliver my own personal “traditional” comment on the passing of some S.O.B…
“That feckin’ @hole” I say, “I’m GLAD he’s dead!”
She’s pretty used to hearing it by now, I guess

bamage commented on the blog post Henry Waxman (D-CA) to Obama: “If You’re Going to Cave, Tell Us Right Now”
I call b.s. on Waxman’s premise.
It’s not “caving” when you get what you wanted in the first place. Sheesh.
Does Waxman still operate under the false assumption that if Obama only had a spine he’d be a better negotiator? Gimme a break. POTUS is NOT on our side!

bamage commented on the blog post As the Arab Spring Gives Way to the Sunni Summer
I just kept shaking my head and muttering “Jeezuz” as I was reading this.
Also, stating the obvious, NOBODY pieces together this stuff the way you do, Marcy. You rock.

bamage commented on the blog post Searching for Meaning in Bin Laden’s Death
Does anybody know what “officially” allegedly happened? I’ve heard that UBL’s purported body was “buried at sea”? Seriously? That’s the story?

I don’t understand how anybody would serve as a spy after being released from captivity…

bamage commented on the blog post Senate Votes Down Restrictions to EPA Greenhouse Gas Regulation
I’m pretty sure acid rain results from nitrogen and/or sulfur oxide emissions – NOT greenhouse gases (carbon chain gases like CO2, methane, etc.) per se.
-
bamage commented on the blog post Senate Votes Down Restrictions to EPA Greenhouse Gas Regulation
4 “Dems” voted to strip the EPA of the ability to promulgate regs restricting greenhouse gas emissions? Did I interpret that correctly? WTF!?
