BeachPopulist commented on the blog post Pro Publica Gets More Comprehensive on Foreclosure Fraud Settlement Fund Raid
David — TYPO ALERT:
Isn’t the settlement supposedly $25 bil, not $2.5 billion?

BeachPopulist commented on the blog post WI: Gov. Walker Looking Strong Before Recall
If you’d like a more in-depth analysis of the upcoming Walker recall fiasco, Alan Maki had a great post here yesterday or the day before. I’m sure you can find it.

BeachPopulist commented on the blog post Levin: Let’s Not Let the Constitution Get in the Way of Indefinite Detention
Levin’s actions on Goldman Sux and JippyMo are pure kabuki grandstanding. Hold hearings, conduct an investigation, then issue a report to great hoopla, all the while knowing that it will not go anywhere at DOJ. As Johnny Red noted, this kind of stuff by Levin and others is treasonous.
Just another reason to abandon all hope, faith, and support for Dems.

Okay, so my problems are just my own doing! Guess I’m no help to you, and you’re no help to me. (I am, however, jealous of your latest and bestest tech goodies. Cox Cable, not so sure.)

BeachPopulist commented on the blog post The Roundup for May 23, 2012
Former Michigan Gov Jennifer Granholm (D) minced no words: Republican “voter suppression efforts across the country could be considered as ‘treasonous’ acts.”
Sorta like the treasonous acts of the Obama administration with respect to civil liberties, the rule of law, and living up to Zero’s campaign promises? That sort of treasonous?

Thanks. Didn’t see that post from Wendy.

I’m getting that kind alla time now. Often I compose a comment, hit post, nothing happens. Finally I switch to another website, then come back, and Voila!, there’s my comment. Sometimes I have to close out my browser entirely and log-on again. BTW, if it’s any help, I’m on a Mac with a less-than-most-recent Firefox browser and Slime Warner cable.

BeachPopulist commented on the blog post Senate Banking Committee Holds First Round of Hearings on Fail Whale Trades
For those of us not particularly well-versed in the ways of finance, can you explain the Watergate reference? Does he mean this is going to reach into the White House? If so, in what manner? Inquiring minds want to know!

I’d say, “Fuck Pelosi”, but who would want to?

BeachPopulist commented on the blog post Bill to End Conflict of Interest at Federal Reserve Is First Step to Operationalizing Fed Audit
The best way to eliminate conflict of interest on the Fed board is to END THE FED. Return control of printing money to the Treasury, as specified in the Consitution, and establish a central bank unit within the Treasury Dept to help manage the economy.

O/T — Anybody else notice that Jane’s post from Feb 15th about Katie is suddenly back up? I tried to comment there but could not find a comment box. (As if, comments were closed, but there was no statement of such.)
Am really worried that there was supposed to be an update attached to this story, and given Katie’s condition I think any update is likely to be sad news.
Anybody know how to contact Jane or FDL editors, get some clarification? (Sorta one of those, “I don’t wanna know but I gotta know” situations.)

BeachPopulist commented on the blog post Pelosi Shifts the Goalposts – Now Draws Line on Bush Tax Cuts at $1 Million
Pelosi’s seat is safe. If she’s using this to fundraise, it’s so that she can have lots of money to distribute to other Dem candidates, making them even more in her debt when it comes vote and policy time.

Sounds good to me. But why stop with just her?

BeachPopulist commented on the diary post Fundamental division between pro- and anti- ALEC factions in the Democratic Party exposed by metamars.
I don’t believe that there is actually an anti-ALEC element to the so-called Democratic Party. I think there is just kabuki posturing designed for campaign purposes.

BeachPopulist commented on the blog post Pelosi Shifts the Goalposts – Now Draws Line on Bush Tax Cuts at $1 Million
There’s a word for Nancy Pelosi. It starts with a “c” but I dare not use it here. So, instead let me try this: “lying, low-life, phony, fascist Piece of Shit”. Won’t change anything but makes me feel a little better.

BeachPopulist commented on the diary post Three More Witnesses Change Stories In Zimmerman Case by Masoninblue.
I think any changes in witness accounts play into the hands of the defense. Any change clouds the issue. Where you right then, or are you right, now? Did you lie then, or are you lying now? How can your recollection be better now that it was weeks ago, immediately after the incident? The standard [...]

I’m on Slime Warner Cable. I get Democracy Now (which broadcasts live in the morning) shown on time delay at midnight. It’s the very last show before the local PBS station goes dark. And that’s only when the show isn’t pre-empted by livestreaming of the County Board of Supervisors and/or LAUSD meetings.

There are no “odds”. It’s a given.
