BlueFloridian commented on the diary post Why vote for Obama? Let me count the whys – 3 by David Seaton.
In Corey Booker’s words, this series is nauseating.
The president seems to have quickly learned an important lesson that other presidents have taken much longer to learn or have never learned at all, that is: the Pentagon has the knack of spending endless money, while achieving little or no results, over unlimited time. In fact that [...]

BlueFloridian commented on the diary post A Dumb War by Alan Grayson.
Well I’m glad that at least one Democrat remembers what the President said and is willing to hold him to it. Mr. Grayson, you have been redistricted out of my district, but I have taken renewed hope that you will bring your antiwar message to Congress and will act upon it. Do you think you [...]

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Senate Democrats’ Prospects Appear to Be Modestly Improving
Jeebus H hockey sticks. That is what I am talking about! How can someone claim to be a Democrat and then support the concept of detaining for profit the innocents caught in the ICE web. Makes me crazy. And of course because we have no press here news in Miramar does not make it to Orlando, news in Orlando does not go any where else. Thanks for delivery the news that the paper is not interested in.

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Senate Democrats’ Prospects Appear to Be Modestly Improving
So? We will continue to have war without end, no jobs, no recovery, no civil rights, no constitution. The current state of affairs was brought to us by people named McCaskill, Nelson x 2, Lieberman, (party of one, please) Manchin, Bacchus, Conrad, Reid blah blah blah. When your own team is crazy, does bat shit crazy really look different?

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post In Surprise Visit to Afghanistan, Obama Says Pacification to Take Two Years or More
They know they are kidding all of us. How many times can you begin to begin to transfer out of Afghan? The President in 2009 said it would begin in 2011. Then the goal posts were moved to 2014 and now its 2024. Unbelievable. The fact that we are all not in the streets shouting to bring down this imperialist is astounding to me. Can anyone imagine LBJ saying in 1968 that he needed just 10 more years to wrap things up and it would then be dawn in America what would have happened? Where did our country go?

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post The Roundup for May 1, 2012
That was the part that struck me. It will be reviewed by the Afghan parliament but in the “greatest Democracy in the world” it is done by executive fiat. We dispensed with having votes count toward anything in Florida a while ago. Why are the rest of the states even bothering? We have a King, his name is Obama.

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post The Roundup for May 1, 2012
Been searching the net for someone to stand up with outrage at the P blithely changing the goals posts to 12 years out. After a few hours your post was the first except for Juan Cole’s Y fairly obtuse Orwellian reference. I can’t figure out if we have all become sheep or if Ds just have fallen in love with being as sociopathically inclined to war as the Rs.

BlueFloridian commented on the diary post No One Could Have Anticipated, Vol. #249 by Peterr.
Again, I wish to point out that the Bishops are out of touch with even their own parishes. There was no talk of this at all at mass this past weekend. 98% of Catholic women use birth control or have used it at some point. As for penance/reconciliation, attendance is rare to pathetic and practically [...]

BlueFloridian commented on the diary post No One Could Have Anticipated, Vol. #249 by Peterr.
Just got off the phone with Senator Bill Nelson’s office to see what he was doing to prevent the country from being run by the Catholic Bishops. As usual the Senator has not yet issued a statement on that yet. This is pretty conventional for Nelson who has no statement on anything (including foreclosures,) unless [...]

BlueFloridian commented on the diary post No One Could Have Anticipated, Vol. #249 by Peterr.
I don’t know why I am so riled up about this. I have no intention of supporting Obama. I should have expected this utter craven decision but all I can think of is every four years we Democrats get a lecture that if we don’t elect a Democrat than the Supreme Court will be lost [...]

BlueFloridian commented on the diary post The 50 State Bankster Pardon Screws the Public Twice Over by Cynthia Kouril.
My father works with the local Occupy group and they are already on the lookout here (Orlando,) for such a family. The plan is to help them continue to “occupy” the home even in the face of an eviction which is quite late in the process, (judgment has already been entered.) But I am a [...]

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Schneiderman Victims: Share Your Thoughts on the Settlement
Yes. All the dead beat bankers, their vice presidents, secretaries and clerks, the mortgage servicers and their agents, the mortgage brokers and appraisers all should be thrown in jail, but that is not how the Obama administration feels.

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Schneiderman Victims: Share Your Thoughts on the Settlement
Here in the trenches, (I actually defend foreclosed homeowners,) I am not a happy camper. All I can think about are my earnest clients who will read the headlines and think that they will actually be on the road to being relieved of the nightmare that they have been living for two years, for some three years.
Once again my clients will get their financial information together and prepare it in triplicate. Once again they will wait for word of relief and once again they will more than likely be turned down.
My clients are more than $20,000.00 behind in payments. Their homes are underwater by as much as $100,000.00. There are very few people with money to buy their homes in a short sale. There is little hope that they will be reemployed soon or that they will get jobs approaching their former salaries.
So we will continue to slog through the Florida Court system case by case. We will be at the mercy of retired senior judges who work only two days a week and who have just 10 minutes of time to devote to a single file that comes before them for a hearing.
The rubber stamp of Bank misconduct, known as a Final Judgment of Foreclosure, will continue to fall, giving the Banks the free houses they think they deserve for giving out “loans” that they knew would fail and that they knew would be underwater the minute the ink was dried.
As a recovering politically active Democrat, I just cannot think of an action or resolution that would make this situation better. When I was a prosecutor, we actually investigated crimes before offering a plea bargain. No investigations means no resolutions. Continued morass as far as the eye can see.
By the way, the Banks are sitting on another 10-14 million foreclosures waiting to be filed and served.
Have a nice day. -
BlueFloridian commented on the diary post The Dream, and the Reality by Alan Grayson.
“But there is a deeper issue. Can someone please explain to me how, in a country where we are told again and again that we are “all created equal,” one group ends up with 20 times as much as another?” Dear Alan, Sorry I missed the parade. A parade is only good with kids and [...]

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Brutal 30-Minute Anti-Romney Attack Ad Released
I am so tired of Scarborough’s “when I ran . . . ” routine. He does miss the bigger point . This was not capitalism, the building of viable companies. This was about the destruction of companies for the sake of greed. Romney/Bain sucked all the capital from the companies and left town.

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Brutal 30-Minute Anti-Romney Attack Ad Released
I’ve just finished watching it. It is devastating to his reputation and to watch the people devastated by his quest for 900% profit. More devastating is that there is not a valid opposition for those of us who care about our country to support so that can we can stop the Romney or the Obama wrecking machines.

BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Nevada Indicts Two LPS Employees on 606 Counts of Robo-Signing
The indictment was under Nevada law, I have no idea what their SOLs are. Here in Fla. for a first degree felony , four years, third degree three years, first degree misdemeanor two years. Case involving fraud, up to one year after the fraud is discovered and possibly up to three years.
I would be satisfied if the prosecutors got the corporate executives of LPS DOCX, the Law Firms the Lawyers, as well as the small fry who had to know that they were committing fraud (essentially the robo signers were saying they were v.p. of BOA by day and a hair dresser at night.) As far as getting top tier bankers, I always thought the way to them is securities fraud which I would bet has a lot longer SOL ( I never practiced Federal criminal law.) You could probably throw in a federal rico act also to get them. The more significant the crime the greater the SOL . -
BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Nevada Indicts Two LPS Employees on 606 Counts of Robo-Signing
Here in Florida, I am on the front lines of the fraudclosure crisis as I defend clients whose homes are in foreclosure. My opinion is the indictment is the beginning of something very substantive. These folks will be “flipped” and will spill the beans on what will prove to be a criminal enterprise. LPS documents were used throughout Florida.
I think it must be hard for people to imagine the level of denial (cover up) that exists in the court system here in Florida concerning these false documents. Only one elected county clerk out of the 67 here in Florida has dared to bring a suit for the failure to pay clerks fees on the fraudulent documents. None of the State Attorneys here ( our elected criminal prosecutors,) have acted against this fraud. Our AG is a close confident of the indicted LPS. The Governor and the Legislature are trying to move to enact a nonjudicial foreclosure system so that the Banks won’t have to comply with the laws regarding affidavits. Senior judges collect their daily $300 dollar paycheck for rubber stamping the Banks requests, (I had a judge sleeping during a hearing yesterday while I argued my motion three feet away) So the fact that an outsider (the AG of Nevada, ) has shined a massive light on the problem, (606 counts!!!) on a Florida based criminal enterprise, should cause every news outfit here in Florida to cover the story. Criminal indictments are significant and prosecutors tend to be followers not leaders when it comes to breaking new ground (former prosecutor here,) . Our AG after this should not be able to run away from the obvious festering fraud no matter how many people she fires and perhaps even our Supreme Court will stop turning the other way. Lastly, maybe someone could clue the President that a crime has been committed. -
BlueFloridian commented on the blog post Well they know their opponent
I hope and pray this is true. Those young brave people are the hope that this country will turn around. Mainstream seems to have moved on though. Waiting to see what November 17, brings. It is amazing and disheartening that there was an Arab Spring but not a similar American awakening.
