Why don’t the other 16 countries all ditch the Euro and leave Adolph Merkel holding the bag?

Mrs. O’Leary’s cow and the Tick that Ate Ina Drew:

From one of DD’s post yesterday:

Investment Office At JPMorgan Chase Allowed to Chase Profits and Downplay Risk

As early as 2010, the senior banker who has been blamed for the debacle, Ina Drew, began to lose her grip on the bank’s chief investment office, according to current and former traders. She had guided the bank through some of the most rugged moments of the 2008 financial crisis, earning the trust of Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan’s chief executive, in the process.

But after contracting Lyme disease in 2010, she was frequently out of the office for a critical period, when her unit was making riskier bets, and her absences allowed long-simmering internal divisions and clashing egos to come to the fore, the traders said.”

    “Supreme Court Justice”
    “Gay Marriage”
“Fraud Dank” I mean “Dodd Frank”
    “HAMP”

  • True enough I guess my snark fizzled. I was linking Obama’s pride over the lowest gov’t spending since Eisenhower to the 1950s. Showing how non-Progressive Obama’s politics truly is.

Obama is so proud of that O-sterity that is the root cause of at least 2 points of the 8+ unemployment rate.

  • Rendell is another fraud who thinks since everyone is living longer, it just makes sense to raise the retirement age to 70.

People like Rendell, Booker, Corzine, Obama, Rahm just make is so much easier for me to give the Democratic Party the middle finger from now on. I have zero regrets for voting third party from this day hence.

  • Age discrimination starts at 40 now

  • Obama is proud to call himself an Eisenhower Democrat

Huffpo had an article that when you factor in the loss of value in JPM/C stock, the true hit is $30 billion for what Obama’s next Treasury Secy, Jamie Dimon, called a ‘tempest in a teapot’

Cenk Uygur on the Young Turks had an economist on who said the true cascading loss on this Fail Whale could mushroom to as much as an 18 billion dollar loss

Dodd Frank? More like Fraud Dank

  • Typical Democrats: circle the wagons and shoot each other

  • Does this mean Jamie Dimon won’t replace Geithner at Treasury if Obama is re-elected?

Does Jamie D still get to be Treasury Secretary in the (shrinking) event Obama is re elected?

He sure got down on his knees and fellated him on The View. calling JP Morgan one the best managed banks and Dimon was one of the smartest bankers. how can Obama be so O-rrogantly servile?

I can’t wait for Great Recession II when Obama tries to get the inevitable bank bailout through this Tea Party Congress and in to the full roar of Occupy.

  • Obama didn’t say he supported Gay marriage. He ‘affirmed’ that same sex couples should be able to get married. I don’t think that legal term is accidental. North Carolina Amendment 1 left the potential of a boycott of the Democratic Convention in Charlotte. Obama can’t afford that. Biden ‘s big mouth didn’t help. Obama looked stiff and uncomfortable in that Roberts interview.

Like someone being forced to eat his peas.

    It’s a variation on the non-denial denial.

  • Barack Obama has had almost a decade to reach his cavalier evolution on the merits of gay marriage. Why now, when he has had three years of dithering and prevaricating – while common citizens suffer daily discrimination – has Obama given his imperial imprimatur to a decision that is risky and could narrow his gap [...]

This is a calculated move to shore up some seriously sullen wealthy LGBT donors who are sitting out 2012. Since Obama ditched the small donor 50 state strategy that worked so brilliantly in 2008 for the obscenity of the $40,000 a plate dinner*, he is scrambling to stanch the cash bleed in the wake of [...]

On the Young Turks tonite they also mentioned that significant gay members of Obama’s staff were grumbling that Obama insisted on dithering over what should be an obvious policy decision of courage. remind of us the statesman we all voted for in 2008.

What does this even mean if hewon’t sign the EO banning discrimination in federal contracts. what is the message, “I support you, but I won’t fight for you.”

Actions speak louder than words. Fail. Just more reelection pandering.

This is a calculated move to shore up some seriously sullen wealthy LGBT donors who are sitting out 2012. Since Obama ditched the small donor 50 state strategy that worked so brilliantly in 2008 for the obscenity of the $40,000 a plate dinner*, he is scrambling to stanch the cash bleed in the wake of Citizens United.

*(No better indicator of the 99/1 dynamic than the realization thatt both parties serve as cumrags for the richie riches).

Obama has an enthusiasm gap and a cash gap problem. The LGBT is a target rich collective of the target dynamic: well educated, urban, well represented in all aspects of productive society, generous in time and philanthropy and savvy in political organization from decades in the civil rights trenches now bearing some fruit. Oh and well north of all economic indicators.

If he can’t regain that community’s energy, he can buy their quiescence with this mealy mouthed ‘endorsement’ which I find as authentic as Frothy Santorum’s midnight email endorsement of Romney.

Congratulations LGBT’ers. You are now Kingmakers in Barack Obama’s re election campaign. Bring your checkbooks. Jim Messina has a prime spot in the Veal Pen next to American black voters and across from MooveOn

I hate the priggish condescension in all this ‘ evolution of opinion’ folderol. How imperious of Obama to prevaricate while common people suffer under daily discrimination.

but what would you expect from Emperor ‘Off with their Heads!’ Obama

  • Isn’t Feingold one of Obama’s Re-Election chairs? Pfffft.

  • Ultimately the Progressive Caucus are just pretend lefties still loyal cannon fodder for this Center Right Democratric party of Obama. This proves that the party is useless and makes it all that much easier for me to not vote for any candidate at all, third party option but never again will I cast a ballot for Dead Donkeys. Locally, nationally, presidentially.

Just like Obamacare, just like preserving the Bushama tax cuts, just like signing the NDAA. At the end the Democrats always cave. And give the working masses the middle finger. Citizens United has stripped away the veil from our eyes. As Bob Dylan sang, “Money doesn’t talk, it swears”

That’s why we need a Grover Norquist type pledge that no money, no support, no vote for any Democrat who won’t sign a pledge to not-vote for any legislation that includes cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

The Democratic Party needs to go the way of the Whig party. It does not represent the New Deal anymore.

    Osterity, for sure-ity
