Our government is promoting this. Matt Taibbi wrote about the scheme about six months ago.
This is a bonus to the banisters for well job well done.

bobthecat commented on the diary post Tar Sands Protest May Greet Obama’s Campaign Manager Jim Messina at Harvard by Scarecrow.
My reply ended up below, but I am not finished. They protested the tars sand which I applaud. In doing so, they made a very strong statement that we will not back down; the tar sands are an environmental disaster waiting to happen – the pipeline must not be approved. Nothing more needed to be [...]

Maybe so, but why issue a meaningless threat? My insult was not for their actions, which I applaud. My insult was for this meaningless threat. By these meaningless threats the progressives make themselves a doormat, in my opinion.

Read the quote “if he expects our full support”. What an absolute joke!! Like the PCCC petition, we won’t donate or work for you. Hello, all he needs is your vote, do you have an IQ hidden somewhere?. Wall Street and the bank will give him all the money he needs. What a bunch of [...]

The problem with non-primary party candidates is that they play by the rules set by the two parties. But the game is fixed. What you need is different strategy. Strategy is much more important than money.

bobthecat commented on the diary post Bill Maher gets it. Too bad the President doesn’t by Liz Berry.
Maher probably likes Obama because he smiles and acts sweet. That’s how con men act. They smile and lie, while stealing everything you have. I guess Madoff’s mistake is that he stole from the rich.

Sorry, I missed those. Which were his truly bold proposals?

Your right Liz and I was pleased to see that you are running for office. We need more people to take that challenge and most important we must find a way to get momentum for a third party. Now is the time.

bobthecat commented on the blog post So how was the speech?
Don’t worry. I have full faith that there is one thing left of our Democracy – our government will screw us all equally. Except, of course, the “elite” 1%.

bobthecat commented on the blog post The American Jobs Act, Summarized
They are not only trying to steal the Social Security Trust surplus, but it looks like the Postal Service money also. If you’ve been listening, they want to lay off 120,000 postal carriers, stop Sat. service and close branches. It came out yesterday, there is a big surplus. In 2006, they made the Postal Service prepay health insurance 75 years in advance. There is 50 or 75 billion dollars in this prepaid fund. There is also supposed to be another pile of money belonging to the Postal Service. I heard it on the NewsHour last night and here http://www.truthout.com/last-union/1315492298. Looks our government is going to clean out all the loose change hanging around in Funds. Maybe that’s the change Obama was talking about.

It is beyond my comprehension how any Progressive, union member, or environmentalist can even consider voting for Obama.

I don’t know where you get $14 per hour. The cost of employment is not just the wage times 2000 hours a year. There are payroll taxes, health insurance, a seat to sit in (if inside job), a building, paper, pens, and on and on. The wage is closer to $10 per hour. Another question, [...]

I totally agree with you. I keep turning the TV and radio off. Yes 911 was tragic, but what is more tragic is that we have attacked sovereign nations and killed maybe a million people since then. We lost all our person freedoms and need to even be assaulted at the airport. And now, our [...]

I could not have said it better. And, the Keystone pipeline had its’ environmental review by the State Department because of NAFTA. Thank you Gore and thank you Hillary, for this environmental disaster waiting to happen.

bobthecat commented on the blog post The Dangers of Political Resentment
Unfortunately, there is a trend to how someone looks. I keep hearing, he looks Presidential. I’m not the only one who noticed this, I heard someone speaking about it on the radio yesterday. With the women it is going further. After McCain selected Palin as his running mate, they had that big to do about the spending on her wardrobe and other things. It was reported that the bill for her “dancing with the stars” make-up artist was $22,500 for the first 1 1/2 months of her campaign. Now I hear Michelle Obama has a full time make-up artist. It is quite sad because looks do not make a president or leader. Some of the greatest leaders of our time were not good looking or presidential looking. Good examples are Gandhi and Lincoln.
