This is why we can’t deal with them with reason and logic. We are approaching political discourse from a point of view crazy people just don’t get; they won’t suddenly become sane because our arguments are so logical or sound. They don’t agree that the greatest good for the greatest amount of people is even a proper goal so protecting Democracy or the rights enumerated in the Constitution are not a value to them.

Agree. My theory is that the upper echelons of politics and corporate governance is populated with people who have certifiable mental conditions like bipolar, paranoid narcissism, etc. THese are people making or strongly influencing decisions that affect millions of people and they suffer from inverse conscience or perverted logic or a number of equally bad conditions. This is why they seem so “despicable and blackhearted”.

Bottom line no matter how you play with the propsed numbers; tax revenues won’t go up much if at all and austerity is baked in the cake. We will lose jobs and services and lifestyle of the average American will continue to erode.

That is awesome, you will turn Texas Green. I am having success converting people as well. If Jill got as much MSM coverage as the typical boobus americanus like Sarah P. or that Pastor in NC she would be polling better than Perot did as a third party candidate.
I like your strategy that you laid out and it seems to make sense to everyone I talk to. Keep the faith. -

You are correct if you replace Republicans with 1%. The uber wealthy made a legal system to control legislation and D or R label is not relevant. This election is kabuki plain and simple. Change for the good of the people will not come from Politicians unless incumbants from BOTH parties start losing in the primaries.

Add this from Greenpeace… International concern about the precarious safety of the damaged spent fuel pool at Fukushima Daiichi’s reactor #4 is growing, including in the United States and Switzerland. The spent fuel pool there was heavily damaged when a hydrogen explosion destroyed the walls and roof of the building, leaving 1,331 spent fuel rods [...]

I work with people who live on SSI and SS disability. They have little and little hope of ever being able to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps (a myth of the Ayn Rand Narcissists Club). More people will be qualified for and dependent on assistance like food stamps if we continue down the road we are on. I’ve said it before on this blog, nothing will change until people are literally dying on the streets or in their chapter 8 housing complex. Alan Simpson is just a figurehead for the Fountainheads.

I think it has been revealed that the people fighting the battles in the 90′s were actually on the same side.

I saw a recent survey of the 1% asking what is wealthy? The result came out to feeling wealthy if your net worth was at least $7.4 million. Don’t know what annual income would make you feel wealthy but $1,000,000 income each year works out to $83k and change per month before taxes. Assume you live like a millionaire it would take several years to accumulate $7.4 million is net worth. So better to take “entitlements” away from freeloading poor people (anyone with income under $250k) or there will be no jobs at all.

$1,000,000 if the Bush cuts expire you will have to try and live on only 50K a month after taxes. It costs 20K a month just for my polo ponies…check that…I write those off..but still it will be a hardship.

BSbafflesbrains commented on the blog post Germany Rules Out Eurobonds
There are two very separate power struggles going on and you have to account for both having major influence on any agreements or “deals” being worked out. One is nationalism and the other is the uber wealthy. Uber wealthy have all the power to make Germany or any other Country do their bidding but they are not a unified group and greed and avarice are their motivators not common sense and reasoning. If it were reasonable politicians representing the will of their people then this discussion can make sense but it is bat shit crazy rich people who can’t ever lose that are the major influence on this crisis.

You can’t describe voting for who you want or believe will do the best job as President as a wasted vote. Vote your conscience not your fear. Voting for winners won’t change anything because the game as it is currently played is rigged. If progressives stopped voting for lesser of two evils maybe 2016 will be a different story. Now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of their country. (8th grade typing class)
