The story of an occupation that lost its way. When Occupy San Luis members arrived at their tent location in front of the county courthouse Saturday morning they found the site vandalized and nearly destroyed. Saturday’s General Assembly was supposed to deal with the issue of whether to continue having a tent at the courthouse [...]

  • The first poo was allegedly flung (in Chicago of course) during the 1968 Democratic convention riots I read about it in Esquire I think.
Rahm and co.must be desperate to get the story out about what will happen, because it costs a bundle to fire up the time machine.

Your analysis is a pilgrimage in it’s own right. Bravo!

  • Consider whether this agreement casts a shadow upon the principle of having the right to a clear and traceable lineage to a title to a piece of real property?
Please point out if my assumption is not correct, but as I read it the federal government has just thrown in the towel on the issue of tainted, or murky titles where ownership is unclear either due to incompetence or fraud. Does this open the way for some future legal predator to argue that the feds set a precedent about when it’s OK to look the other way in a title case?

Thumbnail As I write this post Occupy S.L.O. stands at 103 days. On day 100 the Occupiers staged a seven hour celebration, discussion, reflection marathon, interspersed with food and music, at the courthouse plaza where our tent is located on Monterrey street. We mingled with curious visitors, passers – by and the media, passing out information [...]

Thanks, spread it around. I have a feeling that the issue of homelessness will be a defining force in the occupy movement. From what I hear through Occupy supply the occupy movement is attracting large numbers of homeless everywhere, and of course media cynically seize on this to create a wedge issue to drive away [...]

I don’t mean to imply that occupy should (or even can) assume responsibility for caring for the homeless. One of the points of my post is that we are falling so short that when something like the occupy movement emerges a lot of people in need emerge from the shadows of denial and indifference that [...]

That particular one was uttered by Oprah, apparently she has gained some pontifical status?

  • Thumbnail According to Oprah Winfrey, San Luis Obispo is “America’s happiest city.” Occupy San Luis Obispo is 82 days old today, our Occupation began last October 20 on the lawn of the San Luis Obispo County Courthouse. In the days that followed the lawn area filled with homeless occupiers, The camp was unprepared, surprised by, and [...]

ThumbnailOccupy San Luis Obispo is still standing as of Christmas eve (day 66). On December 21 the occupiers made a feast for the solstice. Here are reports from three occupiers. The Winter Solstice dinner at Occupy SLO successfully fed approximately 30 individuals, some of whom were part of San Luis Obispo’s homeless population. Many of the [...]

Thumbnail Occupy S.L.O. is located in front of the San Luis Obispo County California Government Center. We currently have about seventy regular occupiers. Twenty of these are homeless people who have joined the movement, as well as about fifty regular drop – in members. Currently there are marches on Thursday night and Saturday afternoon, and a [...]

  • 9/11, the ultimate excuse. The establishment look to use it for decades.

  • Ahhhhhhh! a Firesign Theatre Moment. From I Think we’re all Bozos on This Bus (circa 1972) George Tirebiter is talking to the Electronic President and finally screams “Mr. President! I want a job! The President answers ….”count on us to be there! Because if we’re lucky we won’t have to answer questions like yours ever again.
Ridicule and marginalize the base. That’s always the strategy for a second term demublican presidential candidate, except this time I think they hope they can destroy the base.
