You know, it’s pretty damn simple to do one of these foreign campaign Grand Tours. You just go to foreign countries, get your picture taken with foreign leaders, make vague, friendly noises about our “shared history of cooperation and friendship,” collect fundraiser checks, come home and use pictures in campaign ads.
Rmoney can’t handle this most simple of tasks; even Bush didn’t muck it up.

Didn’t wish to interject since I consider SF to be a vast wasteland of awful writing. But anything by Charlie Huston is simply outstanding. His Hank Thompson series, the vampire Joe Pitt series, and his The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death.
Don Winslow is fairly similar; recommend The Winter of Frankie Machine and Savages.
