You cannot make small community banks shoulder additional risk and make additional loans to small businesses. Sure, the government is backing a loans to a greater percentage, but we’re not talking about guaranteed lending. I definitely Agree, this one of the many mistakes made by this administration.

I don’t believe the Bowles-Simpson commission recommendations are going to boost the economy. In fact, the may have an adverse effect on the economy given provisions that would diminish the effectiveness of the Small Business Administration (SBA). Amazing.

Pogo released said the following about the language in Section 815 today, “There is certainly a need to protect supply chains, but Sec. 815 works against small businesses, competition, transparency, and accountability in federal contracting.” (http://pogoblog.typepad.com/pogo/2010/12/defense-authorization-bill-places-subjective-security-concerns-before-competition.html)
This legislation is receiving opposition from a wide swath of the business community.
