Did he just endorse the THREE-FIFTHS COMPROMISE? I think he did. Wow.
I’m not saying we should reopen an argument from 1787. It’s a historical fact, may have been necessary and so forth. But there’s no need to endorse it. Has this guy never seen a compromise he didn’t like, including one in which slaveholding states got 60% of what they wanted?
