Causing one to cruse the entire store just to find where the hell they put the damned tortilla shells.

One of the few positive aspects of South West Florida around Naples and Fort Myres, no nasties to speak of. The surface water was quite high – only about 6 inches from ground level sand. And oft times about 4 inches on the surface and always salty and brackish.

Snakes and even alligators did not like it and especially fire ants did not like it. I could go mucking about in swamp marsh areas near our house and not have tom worry about getting bit by anything.

I don’t ever remember there being many if any yellow jacket wasps either.

Use to go camping across PA with family when I was a kid on way to grandparents in Phillie. Hit nearly every state park there. Very nice indeed.

Well I do not like having to go outside in the Winter and mucking about in the snow. But the coll/cold nights are great for sleeping. I keep my BR very cool and the minute my head hit the pillow…zzzzz

Had our mown version in Florida. Skycraft Parts and Surplus. The main place for parts for a long time. Seemed like I almost camped out there at times.

But these days I get most of my parts off of ebay but you really have to know your prices or you can get scalped. Oft times the price is low but they get you on the shipping. So I will double check Mouser or some such. Often a better deal through them than ebay.

Looks like than bad blizzard that was supposed to “cripple” the north east has turned out to be what my mother would call “Shakespeare”. “It was supposed to be The Tempest but turned out to be Much Ado About Nothing.”

Winter Park was that way. Blacks on one side of the RR tracks and Whites n the other. But the Whites did no like that much. Too close to Park Av., the hoity toidy shopping district. So they began buy up land in the Black area and gentrifying it. Forcing out the Blacks that lived there.

Story. In Florida Kwik Chek [Winn Dixi] was not known for having terribly clean stores. When I was living in Naples – in High School – HS kids worked in the various super markets. Two wise ass kids that worked in Kwik Chek found a dead rat in the store. They thought it funny to wrap it up and put it in the meat case.

Needles to say management was not amused.

SS Kreske’s was the forerunner of KMart. I remember going to one in downtown Cleveland when I was a kid. Like F W Woolworth was the forerunner of Woolco.

Good morning Ruth. Well the Giant Eagle I go to is a lot grander than anything I had in Florida. And yes it has a nice salad bar as well and even a small eating area.
