I am thankful that I had wonderful parents who taught me to respect the beliefs of others and not to mock what they hold sacred. I am thankful that I was not raised to act like those who posted this extremely offensive offer. I am also thankful that I will not have to stand before God and explain why I mocked other’s religious beliefs. I hope that they have time to ask his forgiveness. Aside from the foolish notion that somehow wearing a religious item that was acquired in a dishonest manner, will be stylish, laudable or morally acceptable, there is the question of having permission or authority to wear something that represents sacred covenants, sincerely made between the wearer and God. I learned to forgive those who trespass against me, so I forgive those who posted this tawdry message. I hope they will ask God’s forgiveness as well.
