cyberburl commented on the diary post Austerity Bites: I-5 Skagit River Bridge Collapsed by Elliott.
They were calling it functionally obsolete. I believe part of that would be where the clearances came into play, and now we have an oversize load hitting it. That should be planned before the truck is on the road. I’m not crazy about WPA type agencies rebuilding bridges. Those are union jobs and should remain [...]

cyberburl commented on the blog post Labor Health Care Plans May Suffer as Part of Obamacare Implementation
“If the administration decides to write the regulations this way it would break one of Obama’s core promises that ‘if you like the insurance you have, you will be able to keep it’ under his signature law.”
All these years and we’re still writing the loopholes, I mean regulations.

cyberburl commented on the blog post Rep. Cohen Berates Eric Holder Over Obama Administration’s War on Marijuana
We need to get over the marijuana issue as being a progressive issue. Folks of all political persuasions partake, and have every reason to join the fight for legalization. We need to engage them.
Also, while I can appreciate the need and legitimacy of MM, I think that’s too narrow a focus. No grown adult should have to explain to anyone why they use marijuana.

I saw the Hurt Locker on cable. Wasn’t terribly impressed with it. Saw ZDT in the theater. I found it to be awful. There were parts of the diolog I found to be laugh out loud funny. Bigelow is way over rated.

Smarmy and sophomoric. I generally take a pass on his program or appearances.

I also fell for Obama the first go round, although I had apprehensions by election day. I couldn’t stomach Shillary in the primary, and, heh, well, what can I say about McCain/Palin. O lost me in the early months with “looking forward” past Wall St and torture, and then the bottom fell out with the Obysmal ACA. I voted for Stein in ’12 and changed my registration to Green last month. At this point, walking away from the party is the only thing I think they will hear.

cyberburl commented on the blog post The ‘Very Serious People’ Are Very Silly About Plans To Cut Social Security and Medicare
Every day, I rub my eyes waiting for the nightmare to end. Every day, it just gets worse. Aside from a little cage rattling by Warren and Sanders, the left remains conspicously silent. I keep waiting for a group of these jokers to stand on their hind legs and fight back. We’re barely even getting the Kabuki anymore.

I thought my opinion of Obama hit it’s nadir with the give away to inurance/pharma during the health care “negotiations”. He has continued to prove me wrong several times a year, since.

Thank you for that. Of course I will be putting it to good use.

cyberburl commented on the blog post White House Issues Truly Pathetic Non-Response to Petition About State Marijuana Legalization Laws
All of that. Another aspect, that doesn’t seem so far fetched to me is they probably have some drone operators saying they can take out the patches and “win this war”. All coming with a tidy profit of course.

I think Pharma can muscle in on the distrbution rather quickly. My guess is Monsanto is holding things up while they propriatize the seed stock. Hippies swapping seeds will hardly stoke the engines of the economy.

If it’s public policy debate you’re looking for you’re in the wrong neighborhood with CNN, and especially Piers Morgan. Just more distractions. Look at the shiny keys.
