dancewater commented on the diary post NATO 3 Trial Scheduled for September by TarheelDem.
“Chicago cops raided an apartment in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago in an all-too-common attempt to scare people away from the imminent protests against the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) summit.” It wasn’t the cops that scared me in Chicago, it was the black bloc. I will never go where the black bloc are ever [...]

dancewater commented on the blog post Boston Bombing Suspect Says Motivation Was U.S. Wars In Iraq And Afghanistan
I got radicalized by reading the news – not the corporate news (sometimes called ‘mainstream’ news) but by reading the foreign press. However, that does not begin to justify using violence to address a problem. Violence begets violence, so it is never a solution.
“The ends cannot justify the means, for the simple and obvious reason that the means employed determine the nature of the ends produced.” Aldous Huxley.

There was this, earlier in the week, from a NC State Senator:
“I am the senator, you are the citizen. You need to be quiet,” Tucker said.

dancewater commented on the blog post Media Covering Boston Bombing Will Be Partly Responsible if Shame is Put on Ethnicity of Chechens
Here is how it goes in America:
If you are WHITE, then you are innocent until proven guilty.
If you are BLACK OR BROWN, then you are guilty until proven innocent beyond ANY doubt.
If you are MUSLIM, then you are guilty world without end, and there is no need for a trial or evidence or any of that shit.
And in this particular case, the only evidence I have seen is two young men walking down a street with backpacks on… while the streets were crowded. But the FBI says this was the bombers in Boston last Monday, so fuck all evidence and any judicial review. The young men are Muslim, end of story. The FBI and our wonderful police NEVER MAKE MISTAKES so execute those young men.

I used to wonder about that too – but having seen it unfold here in the USA, now I know.
And any of us could be the victims, and a good number of us could be the Nazis…. which is damn sad.

dancewater commented on the diary post Teach Your Children Well: Men Must Be Leaders in Changing the Culture of Abuse by RH Reality Check.
When it comes to rape, it is rare that a women is the perpetrator. Also, the assumption sees to be that the victim in the Stuebenville rape was drunk and not drugged. I think she was drugged. She told a friend the next morning that she thought she was drugged and did not remember anything. [...]

I don’t agree that the surge put Maliki in a position to demand that the US military leave. Internal Iraqi politics, and WikiLeaks did that, in my opinion.
