Dearie commented on the blog post Late, Late Night FDL: My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark
Glad you are safely tucked in again. I was up in Santa Maria for work today and expecting a 3 day run…. had my motel booked and dinner plans set. But then the attorney for tomorrow’s depo canceled. I came home … happily, I must say. Is it wrong to just lay low and not let folks know I’m home? Just to have a completely free day is such a treat!

You and CT brought some good information to the thread. Not, of course, that it was well received. Gotta laugh. Snarkers just love their snark. I like Wonkette now and then for the run of one liners. Absent the mean spiritness one gets at TBogg’s bonfire.

You were magnificent, blue!. And when gunsbeforebutter ‘fessed up to being 23 (whether true or not) things began to make sense to me. I know they do love them some snark, as Suz might say, but they have a nasty streak that takes away from intelligent discussion…… not that they want intelligent discussion, of course!

Hi, NSA, we think of you!

I have a sense, though I have no evidence for my sense, that if people on the far left and far right thought about how unhealthy people might be handling their food (such as the recent HepA cases based on pomegranate seeds from Egypt … who knew???) that they might wake the f*** up! I live by the fields and I want my field workers to have health care. I want my restaurant workers to have health care. Who wouldn’t? I think there is room for discussion of this.
I also wonder if most right wingers know that the people who work at the restaurants they like so much are often “illegal” and underpaid and “unhealthed” Employers are the ones screwing the immigration process.
Knowledge is power, but we don’t really want knowledge I think.

Another interesting thing I heard on NPR today (sorry, I don’t take notes, I just let it all flow over me):
If an FBI agent came to your door and said, “Who did you call yesterday and how long did you talk? Give us the numbers and your email address and facebook info.” Well, crap, would you hand it over without a written warrant in hand?
No?
I didn’t think so.

Yep, spocko, go with the Hillary angle.
My neocon twin brother and I are finally on the same team: We Totally Hate the NSA Abuses of Our Privacy! We can build on that…. :)~

Enjoy the concert for whatever it is. Memories. History.
I told a couple of folks that my brother and I went to probably the last Carlos Castaneda gatherings with all his female acolytes and that Carlos was a hoot and a half. It was certainly worth the drive to LA.

You know, it was interesting to see another Alan Grayson post. I feel like he’s trolling for dollars. I want to say, “Stand Up and Lead!” Whatever………….

In general: heard a piece on NPR this week about how oysters in the north Pacific area (Seattle and north) are not doing well because of the acidification of the oceans from the melting north pole. Made me sad. Ate east coast oysters yesterday when my brother, his wife, and I took my dad out for an early Father’s Day dinner at a wonderful Santa Barbara fish restaurant.
I am conflicted about where we, as a human species, are going. And impotent to steer us in any other direction. F**k.

10% of those polled think Congress is worth it. And here we’ve got a sell out trolling for dollars. Sickening. Why don’t you and Senator Franken go have a beer together and leave the rest of us to figure out what to do next.

And, yes, I’m sure it is in the book, but I’m trying to assess whether or not I want to buy the book. I think that’s fair.
