Don’t know that there’s an accurate quote, but ‘an eye for an eye until everyone is blind’ makes a certain amount of sense to me. There’s a cranky part of me that just wants to screech “Grow the fuck up!” Look and see.

I do have to wonder how bad it will get…. this state murder stuff. It seems to me that life without parole would be plenty of retribution for most people. Is it that “without parole” cannot be counted on? Otherwise, what’s the deal?

Surprised that it’s Thursday already… but delighted that Hag has written in again. Another righteous writing.

But please forgive me if I have to add: I care. And I’m not among the ‘we’ who demand the retribution and revenge. I don’t want to go all Us-and-Them, but I do want to affirm that there are plenty of ‘real’ Americans who do not want what is happening to ‘our’ country to keep getting worse….. plenty. We don’t particularly have a gathering place and we certainly don’t have a leader to lead us out of this morass, but we are out here ……….

Well, I’m easy……….I thought this was amusing. But did he want to sanction humus or hummas?

  • “Why did you make me do that to you?”

  • And young men are made to feel afraid … by whom, I’m not quite sure. Why are men so fearful? Other men putting them down?

Is there a directory so that one can find the names of young men they used to know? I’ve wanted to see the wall, but I’m afraid I’d just burst into tears. Such a waste of young men…. and women. Not to mention the people whose country we didn’t want to be a domino.

Glad you are enjoying the Central Coast….. we’re having some pretty weather! Enjoy the Mexican food and the sea food, too!

Thanks, blue. Recently my brother called me for help on arranging some medical appointment for our dad from his assisted living. My brother didn’t know where to start…. but I’ve been at this for some time. It only took me 7 calls to get everyone on board! My brother had thought it would take 13 calls, so he was wildly impressed….. and grateful.

Hey, Tut, per Hag’s thread, is your island self-sufficient (food, water, energy, etc) for the population? My concern for the chaos that is evolving is that we all need to be in places of sufficiency…. and, of course, that’s impossible.

Rehab is going well. Ouch. But well. Driving easily again. Actually went out to dinner with my friends this evening. Nice to be getting back to real life. But I sure did enjoy my down time….. nurturing my inner hermit. :)

Instant, unresearched reaction is that keeping population down in the lower/poorer/hungry classes kept some sense of order. Cheaper, dontcha know, to limit the population and what rises out of impoverished masses than to actually provide education and decent pay for jobs. I recently saw a report that if worker wages had risen at the rate of exec pay, the minimum wage would be $23/hr. No I don’t have the cite.

Just another micro comment: my neocon twin brother pointed out that after birth control became available (and abortions) the crime rate went down. Maybe the fact that we are so over prisoned is why we need that birth rate to go up.

Story I heard while out to dinner with friends tonight was that O & Putie were on the phone when someone in Putie’s office told him what happened with the flight and Putie told O. Cra-cra.

Yes, but Planned Parenthood has helped women for years and years….. pulling the Sanger card is kinda silly at this point. But, hey, I’m micro.

And the wingnuts doing away with birth control one method at a time rather assures that there will be more of “them” all over the over crowded earth for the wingnuts to attack. Dismal. Demented.

Where Men Win Glory by Jon Krakauer (2009) is an incredible — and incredibly enraging — read that gives Pat Tillman’s history and the outraging story of how his murder was handled by the military. Plus, it’s just an amazing history of a worthy man. I hadn’t known, for example, that Pat Tillman was married. [...]

Oh, yes….we are on track. I’ll be meeting up with my gal pals this week and restart our walk program. My walking partner is working on her bachelor’s degree, so we’ll have to fit our exercise needs into our mutual schedules. It’s time!

Well, I lost 12 pounds during my rehabilitation….. while eating great stuff that I’d cooked and frozen in the previous weeks before my fall. No, I do NOT recommend this as a diet plan! However, I’m not complaining. I ate well and healthfully. I just ate less. But, I also think I have a set point, and I won’t be surprised to slowly reclaim my set weight.
