Glad you like the UUs, but please don’t call us “fake Christians”. We do respect and follow the teachings of Christ sometimes, but we are not Christians. The Unitarian part of our name basically means “one god”. That rules out the trilogy.

Agreed, but I don’t know any alternative to a new party that is still working within the system. It would take a lot of work, but what is the alternative. We could all join the Greens. Or we could all join the Democratic Socialists. From the example of the Greens we know it can be [...]

    Really?

You’ve got to be kidding. I don’t think you have been paying attention to what is happening, especially on FDL.

Also, how better to punish a “high profile Dem – Obama” then to have a third party.

While I agree with your goals and most of what you are saying, including, specifically, being completely finished with the Dem party. I specifically agree that we need an alternative and am really hoping that OWS can become something that does elect alternatives to office. I like the Populist Party of the 1800′s. All that [...]

    Totally Agree!

That being said, I always thought it was pretty obvious that we were invading Afghanistan AND Iraq so we could surround Iran and use Afghanistan and Iraq as our bases for the obvious next operation.

Let’s hope this isn’t taken too seriously. Even if true.

  • Please don’t let the Dems take it over. That would ruin it.

I used to be an election officer, but won’t do it until there is a way for me to actually verify the votes. At the end of the day all they do in Maryland is tally up the computer counts on the screen and print it out. There is NO WAY TO VERIFY THE VOTES! [...]

Totally disheartened and disappointed by this blog post.

First of all it seems to me that Nader was making political analysis of Palin and somehow this got turned into somehow Nader endorsing Palin or some such kind of thing.

Secondly, NADER WAS AND IS RIGHT! I’m really sick and tired of all the Nader bashing and I thought it would be different on FDL. Looks like I was wrong. Until the left, and those wishing for a third party, can get past blaming Nader for the loss in 2000 and buying into the Democratic talking points we will never have the change we really want in this country. So, once again, here are some things to remember: 1. Nader didn’t lose the election for Gore. 2. Gore was/is a corporatist and wouldn’t have done much different then Obama is now. 3. If Nader DID lose the election for Gore (which he didn’t – see point one) why don’t the Democrats attempt to actually get the votes they need by forming a coalition with the Greens? Ready for the answer – Because it is easier to just bash Nader and all attempts to form a third party! Nothing seems to work as well as scaring people into voting against their own interests and beliefs. (Just look at the Republicans who have perfected this tactic/strategy! Of course, the Dems are not far behind.) 4. You should listen to what Nader is saying about Palin because it actually makes some sense. She probably is “smarter” then most people think. INCLUDING TBOGG based on this diary! 5. Do you really think Nader is an “attention whore”? The guy can’t get airtime for almost any reason! Seriously, “attention whore”? You’ve got to be kidding me.

So, PLEASE, STOP BASHING NADER! He has been one of the few that have stood up and told the truth about our political system and our government. It is bad enough that the Dems continue their bashing of him for their own political ends, but it is worse that it is front paged on FDL!!!

    no shit.

No question that it costs more. Isn’t that the point?

For example, it used to be that soldiers had “KP” duty. Now it is all contracted out. Of course it costs more to have a “corporation” peel the potatoes!

The more that Obama and crew continue down the path of corporate sellout the more I think they are going to lose in 2012. At this point I’m pretty sure there is no way Obama can win in 2012 since the entire left of the party is completely demoralized – actually beyond demoralized and to [...]

Actually read about this in “The Washington Examiner”. They have a section with 10 Good Things and 10 Bad Things that happened this week. Almost always I think they have them exactly backwards! The Examiner is a right wing newspaper. That being said, in the “10 Bad Things” section there was a brief 1 paragraph [...]

Your diary title actually got a full on belly laugh out of me…

Of course, now I’m about ready to cry.

WTF is the communications office and his campaign doing? Let alone WTF is OBAMA doing?

    This presidency is so depressing…

  • Sigh…

Like they are going to pass something stronger! HA

Looks like the XL Pipeline is going to be built too….

I’m glad I’m not a Democrat anymore because this crap shows how messed up the Dems are now.

I’m ready to go. What about the Green Party? They represent just about everything I believe. I’m guessing they come with too much baggage at this point so we need to “re-brand” the left’s image. “Socialist” also carries a lot of baggage. Where does that leave us? I’m looking for that third party to join [...]

What happens if interest rates go up?

Also, why aren’t we issuing 30 year bonds at these historically low interests rates? Wouldn’t that lock in a lower interest to GDP number?

What’s even worse is when Obama said that he never supported the Public Option! The quote is down toward the bottom of the first page of this article: “I didn’t campaign on the public option.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/22/AR2009122202101.html Honestly, he never said he would try for Single Payer, but I was willing to compromise for Public Option.
