Is the “peace of mind” from an AR-15 bigger or smaller than the “pieces of brain” that will get splattered around the room when the oldest is sneaking in from a late date and mistaken as an intruder?

I think the lesson here is that Romney isn’t a real conservative. If he was, it would have bee a shoo-in.

Republicans should hear this advice and take heed: once this thing hits Walmart, there’ll be no stopping it!

Well, in their defense, every Thurston Howell III must have his Gilligan.

Also, I’m certain that show is where most of them learned their economic/class theories. You’ll notice the rich are treated preferentially and housed palatially even tho’ money itself actually has absolutely no value on that island.

  • Hey Peggers, here’s one for you.

Two venture capitalists walk into a bar. One orders a double scotch and the other, a Mormon, orders a sarsaparilla. They embark on creating a plan to destroy the local economy by closing the local factory and off-shoring those jobs.

First, they’ll run up all kinds of debt, charge millions for “management fees”, stiff their creditors by filing for bankruptcy (all that money’s gotta come from somewhere and it sure ain’t gonna be their accounts that are run dry!), then stash the money oversees in shell-corporations and Swiss Bank accounts, and finally count their fees as “delayed capital gains” to the IRS so they aren’t even paying taxes on those.

This only takes about 15 minutes because they’ve got a blueprint from doing it time and again, wrecking havoc across this once-great country by devastating every middle-class town they are in. But they notice they still haven’t gotten their drinks!

So the Mormon stands up. “Bueller? Bueller?” he said, in a perfect imitation of Ben Stein.

I’m sure Peggers thinks, “God, that never gets old!”

    Bless her cunt.

Yes, we all know the American Dream is to own your own house. They never quite mention that the American nightmare is some legacy-hire trust-fund baby with enough money for four houses.

When I was growing up in the late 70’s, my parents would look at the beautiful house on the corner and say, “see the plumber that’s fixing that house? He’s union and has a decent wage, healthcare and a pension. No one would ever dare refer to him as a parasite. And the people that own this fine house pay their fair share of taxes (a top marginal rate of 70%) without funneling them through shell corporations in Bermuda, the Canary Islands, and Swiss Bank accounts so they can have five other estates with dancing horses that taxpayers subsidize so that we can have excellent public schools and sufficient infrastructure and social security.” I knew we should respect people like that.

Then they’d point out a smaller, but still nice, comfortable house and say, “see those people? The Dad works for the telephone company and they can afford a car and put their children through college on his job alone. There’s no way anyone would outsource their jobs to squeeze a few extra dollars of profit for ‘job creator’ investment class parasites that somehow only destroy American businesses, or to pay his CEO 400 times his yearly salary.” And I knew no one could, or even should, respect people like that. Except for, of course, people like that.

Then they said, “God help us if Reagan is elected and instead of continuing the longest economic expansion and wage growth for the middle class in history, we instead have to suffer through 30 years of economic catastrophe because of corrupt conservative tax policies and union busting that favor enriching the 0.1% at the expense of the 99.9%.”

Then Dad joked, “but never fear, because after those Republican parasites are in charge people will hate them so much they’d probably even elect a Kenyan-born Marxist.”

And Mummykins and Da were right! That’s how much America hates Conservatives and their policies.
