Disgusteddan commented on the blog post New Head Of CIA National Clandestine Service Featured In Wikileaks Cables On Torture Case
The USG must be the only ones left in the world who think working for State is “undercover”. Everyone else seems to understand that most people working for State are in fact working for the Company.
And to Rod @5, Yes, the myth of America is just a smokescreen to obscure the true nature of government’s behavior. Read “A People’s History of the US”. Time and time again, the facts are openly ignored in favor of the myth.

Disgusteddan commented on the diary post NPR Trashes The Disabled. by TomThumb.
A corollary to that would be some people did not apply for benefits because their spouse’s income met their needs. Then the spouse lost a job and they had no income. SSDI was the only income they could get.

Sounds like Fat Tony doesn’t want a drug sniffing dog around his home.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post Drone Poll: Those Who Follow News Closely More Likely to Support Strikes Against Terror Suspects
So, in summary, mindless followers of Democrats and aficionados of network propaganda all support government propaganda.

Disgusteddan commented on the diary post Roger Stone’s Defense Of Daily Caller Calls Attention To Stone Himself by Phoenix Woman.
I think it’s time someone put a picture of Stone in front of the Lawyer and hookers in the DR and see if he was the one bribing people to lie about this.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post Drones, Permanent War, Rand Paul’s Filibuster & John Brennan as New CIA Director
While everyone is focused on the drone aspect of this discussion, make no mistake, TPTB fully believe they have the right to kill anyone anywhere. Holder’s answer was an exercise in semantics. Remove ‘weaponized drone’ and ‘engaged in combat’ and the Administration’s answer to the question most certainly is YES.
As Empywheel has been discussing lately, they won’t use drones to assassinate Americans, that’s the job of our militarized police forces. Just ask Chris Dorner.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post BREAKING: Hugo Chavez Dead
I read that and it was disgusting. Chavez was a more democratic leader than most of the Democratic Party.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post BREAKING: Hugo Chavez Dead
RIP, Mr Chavez. I am going to miss the enjoyment you brought every time you thumbed the eye of the US oligarchy. May your country continue on the path you set them on.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post Goldman Sachs Already Finding A Work Around For Volcker Rule
The only thing Goldman Sachs “found” was where their reps (R-GS) put the loophole they bought in the text of the Dodd-Frank bill. The results were intentional. Until some regulator takes them to court for playing symantics with the letter of the law, these sophists will continue to manipulate the law to their will.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post Sperling: Obama Wanted Sequester to Force Democrats to Accept Entitlement Cuts
Congress needs to stop passing legislation with the idea no one will actually use it as passed. Both Sequestration and the AUMF were passed with the idea they were just threats to influence a situation.
In the case of the AUMF, Congress got behind it because George and Dick promised they wouldn’t use it except as a last resort. When, in fact, it is what they wanted and immediately upon passage started their march to war with Iraq.
With Sequestration, it was supposed to be a kick-the-can-down the road thing, when in fact, it is exactly what the Neo-liberals in the Administration wanted; savage cuts and no new revenue.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post In Plea in Military Court, Bradley Manning to Explain Why He Released Information to WikiLeaks
I think what the court and the government don’t want to have discussed is the legality of Manning exposing illegalities.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post Supreme Court Rules Warrantless Wiretapping Law Cannot Be Challenged Without Proof of Secret Surveillance
So, I guess the only way to address this injustice is for some persons to document a predetermined “conspiracy” and lock it away in a safe deposit box and then communicate about it via phone and email and wait for the Feds to come knocking. They will then have standing because the Feds will have acted upon information only known to the defendants but otherwise was a fabrication.

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post Dorner Revisited
If you take a slightly wider view than the workplace, the two authors theories reflect the precarious nature of our whole existence in this country. We have become a throw-away, predator/prey society. Whether you recognize it or not, everyone of us (except for the independently wealthy, unless a Bernie Madoff is your investment advisor)are one illness, car accident or stock market crash away from being discarded or at best thrown into poverty. Since the 70′s when corporations started reneging on their pension promises, the populous has come to understand we are all on our own. Until that changes, it will continue to get worse.

Disgusteddan commented on the diary post Not New and Certainly Not Improved: Bowles-Simpson: V. 2.0 by TomThumb.
I think there are two things that they could do that would be improvements without raising the retirement age: 1. If one does not retire when they reach retirement age, they will continue to pay FICA, but will get no further SS credit. Penalize those who don’t physically work but continue to occupy a paying [...]

Disgusteddan commented on the diary post Mandiant: China’s Army Hacking US, Canadian Utility Infrastructure by Phoenix Woman.
Stuxnet was the game-changer. Once again, the US deploys the most advanced weapon available in the world, and then wonders why other countries would want to develop their own and possibly use it against the US. Sadly, our leaders just can’t see their own hubris and belligerence.

Disgusteddan commented on the diary post Greg Grandin: Why Latin America Didn’t Join Washington’s Counterterrorism Posse by Tom Engelhardt.
One thing I continue to find amazing about the list of Aiders and Abettors of GWOT, is the inclusion of Libya, and the two “axis of evil” members, Syria and Iran. Now Libya publicly came out during the war and no doubt, renounced it’s aggression for oil sales and US “aide” money. But Iran and [...]

Disgusteddan commented on the blog post Department of Justice Attacks Frontline As Lanny Breuer Resigns
I don’t know about that. The Frontline piece clearly demonstrates Breuer’s participation in this cover-up. If there were any honest prosecutors at DOJ, this would become a RICO case.
