Okay, just for a second, imagine Nancy Pelosi did this…

Utterly dismissive and proving no point whatsoever.

disillusionance commented on the blog post Chris Christie’s Idea of “Doing Big Things”
I suppose I like to think my side is a bit more thoughtful than theirs, which kind of helps me explain the logic of why we care about humanity and they don’t seem to.

So you were speaking to his “uniqueness”? Sure, I can go there. Can you agree that the “average voter” would find him to be an appealing candidate based solely on those soundbites? Informed people on liberal blogosphere, of course not, but others will see leadership qualities. I have vague memories of Reagan but I do recall is that many felt Reagan was a strong leader when compared with Jimmy Carter. Obama is no Reagan in terms of how his leadership is perceived. I wish he had a little of that Reagan aura (yes, he had it then), but I dare say Obama wouldn’t put it to good use.

Yes I have seen him in action. I don’t care for his behavior either.

Some of these comments are juvenile and embarrassing. Pot shots concerning his weight are out of line.

Yes, you are missing something. Christie scares me and I don’t agree with anything he says, but pay attention to HOW he says it. He really is like Reagan. If he doesn’t screw it up, he will be our next president. If he gets what he wants, there are many, many people who will be hurt by his policies, but his statements and speeches are done with conviction. He makes you believe that he believes in what he is saying. That’s confidence and leadership and he has boatloads of it. Doesn’t matter what he does, what matters is how he says it. I can’t stand, but just looking at reality. Most people are not engaged in political details and will not see him beyond his style.

disillusionance commented on the diary post Hillary Hypocrisy? While the Secretary Calls for Free Speech, Veteran is Arrested and Abused Before Her Eyes for Exercising Free Speech by KevinZeese.
I will share this story. How very Orwellian. Security officers believe this is their job; people believe this is what security officers are supposed to do; all in the name of disorder. All the while we fight for crumbs while all the country’s wealth is transferred to pseudo-military corporations. Well, not all I suppose. I [...]

disillusionance commented on the diary post I Know I’m Not Alone Here; Please Don’t Tell Me I’m the Only One Watching This in Disbelief by msofia.
You are not alone. I believe the political class believes we have nowhere to go. I, for one, will gladly throw my support behind the most progressive candidate for 2012. Probably not much chance of making a difference, but at least I will sleep good at night. Why on earth can Democrats not shine a [...]
