dosido commented on the blog post Questioning the Paternalism of Patriarchs
I have no words for the horror that befell the Congolese woman and her daughters. How dare they challenge her husband’s manhood by saving him?
Awful.I was rather astonished (because I don’t know all that much history) when I came to read this just recently: http://www.library.csi.cuny.edu/dept/americanstudies/lavender/decwom2.html
Declaration of the Rights of Women (French revolutionary style). The author was hung for treason of course.

GOP = Rules are for the Other Guy!!!
Came across this nifty quote:
A society in which the observance of the law is not assured, nor the separation of powers defined, has no constitution at all.
Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen
Approved by the National Assembly of France, August 26, 1789 -

well, this is just sick…
but I wonder if a couple of people are clicking “like” in order to comment on it. I have a really challenged understanding of FB. Just a thought. And apparently enough people reported the post to get FB to take it down.

dosido commented on the blog post 60% Favor the Buffett Rule
meant to add that it’s because 60% favor it that Obama says anything about this at all. Then he’ll forget. But it sounds really really great right now.

dosido commented on the blog post 60% Favor the Buffett Rule
Just going to relay that too…Very serious people think Buffett rule is not serious.

Ugh. I listened to why evangelicals will support Romney, and all the pro-life and how religion will/won’t matter. Ugh ugh ugh.
Really? Today, April 12, 2012, I am not worried about abortion law. Truly. I want rule of law back. Thought I was going to get some. Guess not.

I used my mad google skillz to learn that Hannity lives in NY so he might invoke NY shield laws?

Here is Florida’s law regarding journalist’s privilege:
http://www.citmedialaw.org/florida-evidence-code-section-90-5015sharper legal minds than mine might be able to discern what Hannity must submit to.

dosido commented on the blog post More on the Supreme Court’s Abominable Strip-Search Ruling
jeebus, since when do we assume that all citizens have the potential to be the next 9/11 hijacker or Timothy McVeigh. Kennedy’s rationale is unconstitutional on its face.
No one ever said freedom was safety. spit.
-
dosido commented on the blog post Supreme Court Rules for Strip Searches for Even Those Arrested for Minor Offenses
I could not believe Kennedy’s reasoning on this one.
He reasoned that strip searches are justified bc one of the 9/11 hijackers was pulled over for a minor offense. Had officials stripsearched him 9/11 could have been avoided? So now we have Cheney’s 1% doctrine up our ass literally?
So a strip search is warranted for what you MIGHT be up to? what happened to presumption of innocence?
Government IS getting smaller to facilitate the intrusion into our bodies!

dosido commented on the blog post Foreclosure Fraud Whistleblower Harassed by Mortgage Lender
factual reason? that’s easy.
far better to scare the beejeezus out of Lynn wannabee’s. Think of Hopper in A Bug’s Life.
[Hopper has just drowned three dissenting grasshoppers in a pile of seeds]
Hopper: You let one ant stand up to us, then they all might stand up! Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one and if they ever figure that out there goes our way of life! It’s not about food, it’s about keeping those ants in line. That’s why we’re going back! Does anybody else wanna stay?
[grasshoppers shocked - all the grasshoppers "rev up" their wings]
Molt: [motioning a fellow grasshopper] He’s quite the motivational speaker, isn’t he?
Hopper: Let’s ride! -

Is anyone else embarrassed about how this case is being discussed in the media? I mean, if a soldier from Country X went off his rocker and massacred a dozen or so civilians in some out of the way village, would we be so sympathetic? I’m angry that the military still will not acknowledge the [...]
