ducktree commented on the blog post Congressional Floor Speeches Have Gotten “Dumber”
Sort of puts my in mind of Archie Bunker to his dear Edith: “Dummy Up!” That would be a great message to spread to many in Congress.

The reality of that argument of RP is that gays are actually lynching themselves more these days. Nobody else has to get blood on their hands.
How many African American youths commit suicide because they can’t bear the thought of growing up Black in a bigoted, hate-filled society? If they are, it’s not being reported.

ducktree commented on the blog post Lugar Offers Obsolete Shouts In An Era of Parliamentary-Style Partisanship
Excellent points, db. Lugar keeps using the word “governance.” I do not think it means what he thinks it means. If what goes on in the Senate and House is “governance,” I’m a sparkle pony unicorn.

ducktree commented on the blog post Gay Donors Begin Boycotting Obama Campaign Over Anti-Discrimination Executive Order
Here! Here! And with all due respect to DDay’s and Greg Sargent’s opinions that O has done a lot for the lgbtq base so far, not from this queer’s perspective. Not nearly enough. O reminds me of Clinton who snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and brought us DADT in the first place, despite his empty campaign rhetoric.

the next big boom
Ugh, that’s exactly what I’m afraid of. I live in Signal Hill, CA, right above the Long Beach and Los Angeles Harbors. Thankfully, I wasn’t living their when the Liberian tanker exploded in the LB Harbor back on ’76 (or was it ’77). Windows were shattered for miles around. An LNG tanker catching spark would be an enormously different matter.

Precisely. “Fools’ names, as fools’ faces, often appear in public places.” That would be my Victorian era Granny’s description of Facebook.

The MERS robosigned title transfers denied counties throughout the nation the recording fees they have historically relied upon to pay for services to the public. Instead, the money went to the robber barons (“elite”) and the counties’ services are now and will continue to be decimated. Howzat?
