EdA commented on the blog post Roman Catholic Hierarchy Tacitly Admits That They’re Losing The Marriage Debate
Especially when these single people consider the only forms of acceptable human sexuality for others is that which treats women like dairy cattle and for themselves statutory rape of children and teenagers.

Many many thanks for posting this overview, including also the link to Cardinal Ratzinger’s “considerations.”

I suspect that these non-violent Taliban supporters also presume to foreswear themselves by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and also doing so with a straight face.

EdA commented on the blog post MA-GOP Senate Frontrunner, Like The Party Itself, Has A Bias Problem
Apart from other things, Michael Sullivan, former part-time head of ATF, will likely have to address his own role with ATF gunrunning to Mexico. And the fact that he is now a partner in John Ashcroft’s law/lobbying firm may not come across as a plus.

EdA commented on the blog post Bill Clinton: It’s time to overturn DOMA
Much more useful than a self-serving op-ed in the Washington Post would have been a brief to the Supreme Court expressing his belief that DOMA is unconstitutional and signed William Jefferson Clinton.

EdA commented on the blog post Maryland ushers in 2013 with marriage equality for same-sex couples
You are, of course, aware that through history and numerous cultures, including Mitt Romney’s own personal grandparents, marriage was defined as taking place between one man and one woman … and another woman … and another woman.
You are, of course, also aware that in many states of the United States, particularly the former slave states of the Confederacy, monogamous straight relationships between people of the “wrong” races were not legally valid. And even today there are justices of the peace who refuse to perform inter-racial marriages (and get disbarred as a result).
No one has ever explained to me — and for years, I have been asking — how the marriage of people whom they don’t even know has any impact on their own marriages. And nobody is asking you to “approve” — that’s entirely your business. (For all you know, maybe I wouldn’t approve of YOUR marriage — but I don’t have to; it’s none of my business.)
Best wishes for the New Year.

EdA commented on the blog post Does Cardinal George Serve God, Or Mother Nature?
On the topic of marriage — any kind of marriage — I give the appropriate level of credibility due to people who have rejected all forms of human sexuality for themselves and who believe that the only acceptable forms of human sexuality is that which treats women like dairy cattle and the statutory rape of youngsters as long as perpetrated by their fellow clergy.
This is apart from the fact that Cardinal George, like the other bigots, archbigots, and cardinals are agents of a foreign dictator who has mandated a global cover-up of sexual abuse.
But that’s just me.

EdA commented on the blog post High-crime Oakland chooses to lay off 200 police officers — but gives $17M to pro sports teams
Sadly, this is far more the rule than the exception — one of George W. Bush’s few successes as a businessman was getting the taxpayer to build his baseball team a stadium.
And what adds insult to injury is this — how many of the residents of the communities subsidizing the zillionaires are ever able to go to a game?

EdA commented on the blog post ‘Kill The Gays’ Bill Instigator Scott Lively Praises God For “Cleansing” City With Violent Explosion, Takes Credit
Rather more, even, than I knew. Apparently Scott Lively’s coffee house, managed by a live-in child molester believed likely to be a repeat offender, had particular appeal for kids who couldn’t/wouldn’t stay in school.

On the other hand, Scott Lively had no problems with hiring a convicted child molester, considered likely to be a repeat offender, as live-in manager of his “coffee shop” whose primary purpose was to entice unsuspecting teenagers into his hate parlor.

EdA commented on the blog post Former Chairman of Catholic Charities of Boston Calls Preserve Marriage Washington On Its Lies
I should mention that Peter Meade is not particularly liberal.
Although I am not now nor have I ever been any sort of Christian, let alone a Christianist, I think that Cardinal Ratzinger has very seriously misjudged the nature of the Catholic Church in 21st century America. A number of dioceses have been risking their tax-exempt tax-deductible status due to blatant partisan campaigning, and there IS in fact increasing concern as to whether bishops, who are appointed by and who serve at the whim of a foreign head of state who is a dictator for life, are speaking for themselves, their flock, or a foreign dictator, which would mean — or should mean — that they -should- register as agents of a foreign power.
Incidentally, it should be noted that Bernard Cardinal Law is still effectively a fugitive from justice for aiding and abetting massive amounts of statutory rape.

EdA commented on the blog post The Sweepstakes Candidate: Mitt Romney’s Pay-To-Play Campaign
Dear Ms Ramseyer,
The President and/or Mrs. Obama were to anxious to have dinner with me that they and their friends write me, too, several times a day — AND some of their friends promise me that if I contribute more, some of their friends will TRIPLE-match my donation.
Given the alternatives, I’ve been prepared to give more than I can monetarily afford. But if these people can triple-match my donation, why don’t they just donate the triple-match themselves in the first place?

EdA commented on the blog post God Finally Answers Focus on the Family’s Prayer For Rain
People should remember also that Goddess’ response to the 2010 election of the Teatotalitarians and their trashing of their alleged belief in Christianity by sending tornadoes to the states most infested by fundamentalists, sometimes even sending tornadoes a couple of times to the same places.
Also, you may recall that Rick Perry decided that tax breaks for yacht owners were more important than supporting rural fire departments. Last year there was a major increase in the number and severity of wild fires in West Texas. Perry’s response was a call for prayer for rain. Goddess’ response was indeed to send rain — to EAST Texas, in flooding amounts.

EdA commented on the blog post DeMint succeeds in getting pro-gay ad pulled from SC television station
“It’s ridiculous to even ponder the notion that anyone looking at the ad would think that DeMint was anti-Semitic.”
- – - – –
We already know that the senator from Fort Sumter has this thing about uppity Presidents. A couple of years ago, GOP county chairpeople complimented DeMint by saying that he would look after taxpayer money the way that Jews look after their own money, which actually did go too far for people in the Palmetto State. He rejects modern science. Barely a month ago, he stated in public that God has put Christians in charge of America.
So what’s so ridiculous???

EdA commented on the blog post NOM using Black pastors as pawns to get Romney elected
Of course it makes sense for some Black pastors to support someone who was a “bishop” in a religion that refused to acknowledge that Blacks were adequately human enough to hold church office until 1978.

EdA commented on the blog post Pelosi, Nadler, 130 House members file amicus brief on fed case against DOMA – see the 60 who didn’t sign on
I think that it is confusing, to say the least, to include Democrats who are co-sponsors of DOMA Repeal in the same list as “Democrats” who have zero or less than zero interest in “with liberty and justice for all.”
Of course, given the large number of anti-social “Democrats” on the list, a number of whom receive DCCC support, just provides further evidence that we are MUCH better off sending money either to individual candidates or to groups that support progressive causes than sending it to the DCCC.

Unfortunately, all too believable.
On so many issues, the theologically driven abandon whatever critical thinking skills they might have had when it comes to S-E-K-S. This is one reason why they also believe that the cure to unwanted pregnancies is to eliminate access to birth control.
